ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop the corporate accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses
- Maintain and improve documented accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures
- Coordinate with external tax professionals and government agencies on company filings
- Serve as the accounting lead on enterprise-wide initiatives, collaborating with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales, HR, and Operations to evaluate business decisions, resolve accounting complexities, and ensure GAAP-compliant outcomes
- Identify and lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes
- Partner with divisional and senior leaders on accounting and finance matters
- Serve as the primary liaison for the external auditors; coordinate audit schedules, prepare requested documentation, and resolve findings
- Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with 8 – 10 years of progressive experience (CPA preferred)
- Strong foundation in GAAP, accrual accounting, and cost accounting
- Experience with percentage-of-completion and project-based accounting (manufacturing or wholesale distribution background a plus)
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities, and confidential information with discretion
- Strong communicator who can translate financial data for non-finance audiences
- Advanced knowledge of excel
- Ability to adhere to month-end close timelines
- Oracle NetSuite, AS400, Concur Invoice, and Concur Expense experience a plus
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
Hybrid schedule onsite (2-3 days per week)
Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:30PM EST
PAY RANGE: $140-160K Annually based on experience
