About the Role
Willow Wealth is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will be responsible for owning and improving the company's data stack. This includes expanding our data warehouse, building ingestion processes between different company tools, and streamlining reporting processes. As part of a small but wide-reaching data team, you will have ample opportunity to own large parts of our tech stack and to plan new projects to improve the organization.
After thirty days, this person is expected to become familiar with the various parts of our data stack, such as the data warehouse, dimensional model design, scheduling & ETL processes. They will have enough knowledge to work on ingesting new data, refactoring dbt models, and ensuring downstream reporting maintains accuracy.
After a year, this person should be the technical owner and go-to person for parts of our data stack. It is expected that they will proactively consider improvements to their areas of ownership. They should be able to holistically understand the data stack and how changes to one part might affect others. They not only adhere to best practices but are able to add to them as well.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and streamline Python processes to ingest data from various sources into and out of our data warehouse
- Maintain and expand data in data warehouse
- Improve and standardize data quality
- Collaborate with engineering and analysts to incorporate upstream data changes and downstream data requests
- Improve and automate team processes
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering
- Fluency in SQL and Python
- Proficiency with relational databases and dimensional modelling
- Expertise building ETL processes
- Familiarity with BI tools
- Experience with the following tools is preferred but not required:
- Snowflake
- Looker
- Dagster
- Docker

This is a New York-based role. The base salary range for this position is USD 170,000 to 190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for equity compensation as part of the total compensation package.
