Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join an existing team developing high-value insights and products derived from massive behavioral datasets.  You will bridge the gap between raw user behavior and alpha-generating insights by developing aggregate, anonymized products that meet rigorous privacy standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build products that translate anonymized behavioral signals into leading indicators for financial performance.

  • Research and create proprietary indices that can be leveraged by financial services clients.

  • Perform rigorous backtesting on new and existing products against historical financial outcomes.

  • Implement anonymization and aggregation techniques to ensure products are compliant and non-identifiable.

  • Collaborate with external researchers/clients to refine product requirements and validate desired outcomes.

Experience

  • Mastery of large-scale SQL data environments (e.g. Snowflake) with an emphasis on optimizing complex queries across billions of behavioral records.

  • Proficiency in Python with a focus on feature engineering, predictive modeling, and time-series analysis.

  • Deep understanding of financial markets, including experience with backtesting frameworks.

  • Experience building scalable data pipelines and deploying models within a CI/CD workflow.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, math, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years in Data Science with a proven track record of transforming data from raw database tables into "ready-for-sale" products.

  • Direct experience working with Alternative Data providers or within a quantitative finance environment.

  • Experience defining the value proposition of proposed products, including the ability to demonstrate how customers would use these products to enhance decision making.
