We are looking for a senior designer & project manager to support our client, a luxury beauty brand. The senior designer and project manager is a senior-level, dual-expertise role working with the store design team, uniquely positioned at the intersection of design execution and rigorous projects management. Working with leaders of the store design function, you will bring 8 to 10 years of experience, driving end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream creative and design programs in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

This role is built for a rare profile: a design-fluent team member, who can simultaneously shape creative output and command full operational control over scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.  It operates in a hybrid capacity with 3 days per week onsite at our client in mid-town Manhattan.

You will collaborate with and align cross-functional teams, including designers, brand managers, vendors, retailers and senior stakeholders, across simultaneous initiatives, acting as the connective tissue between creative vision and execution reality. Your design sensibility is central to how you communicate with design leads, evaluate creative and solution driven output, and ensure that brand intent is preserved throughout every phase of delivery.

Beyond day-to-day project management, you will bring a proven track record of optimizing workflows, orchestrating brand rollouts, and managing vendor ecosystems, while fostering a collaborative environment that consistently drives exceptional design outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream store design projects across multiple brands, managing scope, timelines, milestones, and quality from brief to completion
  • Translate strategic business objectives into structured, actionable project roadmaps; anticipate risks and drive proactive mitigation
  • Maintain a consolidated, always-current view of the design portfolio for specific brands to be shared with various leaders and stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across design teams, brand managers, vendors, and senior stakeholders across simultaneous large-scale initiatives and be a point of contact for cross-functional partners including brand teams, finance, vendors, and retailers
  • Support the creation and delivery of high-impact presentation materials, program recaps, and executive status updates
  • Apply deep design expertise, including retail design principles, brand rollout methodology, and prototyping , to evaluate and guide creative output across programs
  • Partner with design leads to ensure creative intent is preserved throughout every project lifecycle, from concept through in-store execution
  • Bridge the gap between design ambition and operational feasibility, ensuring detail-oriented creative output remains aligned with strategic goals
  • Leverage proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD to engage meaningfully with design deliverables and vendor documentation
  • Oversee vendor relationships across the different projects

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Architecture, Interior Design, or a related creative field strongly preferred
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in design and project management, with a focus on complex, multi-stream design programs in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrated design expertise: strong command of retail design principles, brand rollout, and prototyping; ability to evaluate and guide creative output
  • Proven track record managing large-scale design programs for high-profile clients; experience in the Beauty or Luxury industry a strong plus
  • Strong ability to partner with and align cross-functional teams across simultaneous initiatives and projects
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and adaptable, with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adjust to pressing timelines in dynamic environments
  • Experience in a US retail or luxury brand environment strongly preferred
