About NewWorld

NewWorld is building the media company for this moment—one that produces content, experiences, and cultural narratives that shape how a generation thinks, feels, and acts. We work at the intersection of entertainment, politics, and culture, partnering with talent, funders, and institutions who believe that the most powerful investment you can make is in the stories that move people. We are assembling a network of creators and partners to win the next decade of culture and influence.
About this role
The best ideas won't move people if they can't be understood. This role exists to close that gap. As Senior Designer, Executive Communications, you will work closely with NewWorld's executive team to turn complex thinking—business models, funding narratives, cultural analyses—into visual arguments that land with the organization’s most important partners, funders, and collaborators.

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Model: Hybrid (2–3 days/week in office)
  • Type: 3–6 month contract (~40 hours/week)
  • Travel: Occasional, aligned with convenings and key engagements (if needed)
  • Start Date: April 13, 2026 (or as soon as possible)

What you’ll do

  • Executive Narrative and Presentation Design: Build the decks, memos, and one-pagers leadership uses to present and persuade. From board materials, to funder updates, to partner proposals, and everything in between
  • Strategic Framing and Conceptual Modelling: Work with the Strategy Lead to translate emerging strategies and frameworks into visual models that make leadership's thinking concrete and actionable
  • Data Visualization and Analytical Design: Transform polling, audience research, and systems data into clear, publication-quality visuals. You know how to make data tell a story
  • Infographics and Systems Mapping: Design layered infographics and ecosystem maps for external publication, convenings, and partner materials.
  • Workshop and Facilitation Support: Create the visual materials that help leadership and stakeholders work through ideas together in real time, not just receive polished outputs afterward
  • Interactive, Motion, and Web: Where static formats aren't enough, you can push further—animated data stories, interactive visualizations, or digital formats like landing pages and microsites
  • Visual System and Brand Stewardship: Refine and maintain a scalable visual language for executive communications, from templates and components to standards that hold up across every audience
  • Vendor and Production Coordination: Manage external production partners (printers, fabricators, web vendors, AV teams), ensuring work translates cleanly from screen to world

What you bring

  • 6–8 years in executive communications design, data visualization, editorial design, or strategic communications. Ideally in a newsroom, design firm, consultancy, or high-stakes media environment
  • Exceptional command of information architecture and design—you know how to structure a visual argument
  • Fluency in presentation design, you move from raw strategic input to polished executive output without losing the thread
  • A portfolio that demonstrates high editorial standards: clean, rigorous work that makes complex information accessible
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume communications cadence—board cycles, funder rhythms, launch moments—without sacrificing quality
  • Comfort working directly with C-suite leadership: you understand discretion, urgency, and the art of the right question
  • Experience supporting live strategy sessions; you can hold the room visually, not just deliver to it
  • Strong instincts around typography, layout, and visual rhythm; you have taste and a point of view
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and data visualization tools (e.g. D3.js, Flourish, Datawrapper, or equivalent).
  • Experience with information design in digital formats—landing pages, microsites, scrollytelling
  • A genuine belief that design is argument, and that the right visual at the right moment can shift how power moves

Why this role matters
NewWorld is at an inflection point. The ideas we're advancing—about culture, power, and what a new generation is capable of—are as big as any in the political and media landscape right now. But big ideas need a visual language worthy of them.

This role will shape how NewWorld is understood: by funders making seven-figure commitments, by cultural partners deciding where to place their trust, by collaborators choosing which room to walk into. You will not be making things look nice. You will be making the future legible.

Compensation
This contract role is expected to last three to six months, at 40 hours a week for the contract duration. The expected salary for this position is between $9,000 and $10,000 monthly and will be commensurate with experience.
Please submit a Resume and Portfolio, as well as a Cover Letter detailing relevant experience.
