DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Partnership Solutions team sits within our Sales & Representation division at Fenway Sports Management, helping to power the organization's partnership sales efforts. The Solutions team serves as an internal “brand marketer,” responsible for building compelling partnership stories, identifying new platforms and commercial opportunities, and creating impactful solutions that build excitement and alignment for brands, while authentically complementing our world-class properties.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director, Partnership Solutions serves as a strategic architect and marketing lead across the Fenway Sports Management portfolio, acting as the connective tissue between brands, properties, and internal stakeholders to develop integrated partnership platforms that drive measurable business impact. Through a deep understanding of brand marketing priorities and partnership strategy, this role will work closely with the sales and business development teams to identify prospective partner goals, uncover whitespace opportunities, and design scalable marketing platforms. 

The Senior Director, Partnership Solutions will lead the development of integrated partnership platforms across FSM-owned and operated properties, third-party relationships, and strategic investments, including but not limited to the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool Football Club, Boston Common Golf, NESN, RFK Racing, MGM Music Hall, Fulwell, LRMR, FSM-owned events, and other evolving portfolio assets.  As a key liaison across properties, this individual will collaborate closely with partnership sales, insights/intelligence, creative, and marketing teams to develop insight-driven, strategically aligned partnership concepts that are executable across all touchpoints.  This person should possess a strong understanding of the evolving sponsorship landscape, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and integrated campaigns that position partnerships as true business growth platforms capable of delivering measurable impact beyond traditional media value.

The base salary range for this position is $175,000-$225,000 based on relevant experience. Additionally, this position qualifies for annual incentive pay along with our comprehensive benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development of customized, creative marketing programs for prospective FSM clients.
  • Work closely with the properties and sales teams to help develop and deliver new pitches, ideate, and when needed, concept new activation ideas for new and/or existing clients.
  • Through consistent contact with the properties, proactively identify new assets and build creative turnkey platforms to generate new revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the sports sponsorship marketplace, brand strategies and activation concepts in an effort to build compelling marketing platforms for prospective clients across the FSM portfolio.
  • Create opportunities for prospective clients by staying current with new digital media channels, audience targeting capabilities, and best practices.
  • Work with the research & insights team to develop and present data within presentations to help brands visualize and understand the value and ROI related to their sponsorship programs.
  • Manage a team of strategists/storytellers and associates to develop a vertically integrated and efficient sales support system.
  • Fully understand Fenway Sports Group’s family of properties and partners to identify potential cross-platform opportunities and develop working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Possess the experience and capability to present in business development meetings and participate in sales calls and proposals with clients, as needed.

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (degree in business, marketing or related field preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience with brand strategy, digital strategy and/or sponsorship sales in a team, league, brand, agency or corporate setting.
  • Passion for sports marketing, media, promotion, and sponsorship sales.
  • Innovative and well-organized with a strong work ethic and a desire/willingness to learn.
  • Aggressive, self-motivated team player that has the ability to focus on individual and team goals.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to travel locally, work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
