POSITION SUMMARY 

The Senior Director, Business Development, supports the Americas Chief Growth Officer in achieving aggressive top line growth objectives through the identification, development and closing of new business opportunities. 

This person is a dynamic and highly experienced hands-on new business leader who will play an integral role in developing and executing Tag’s growth strategy across the Americas. 

This individual has an insatiable hunger and drive for building and converting opportunities that push the business forward to achieve its growth objectives. 

They are responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing enterprise-level opportunities across key sectors, while building and maintaining a consistent pipeline to deliver significant revenues with a primary emphasis on new logos.   

JOB DUTIES 

Fully responsible for the delivering against the annual growth targets for the assigned market: 

  • Identify, qualify and track targeted opportunities for the company to achieve growth in targeted markets and with targeted clients, in alignment with corporate business strategy. 

  • Substantially grow and maintain a pipeline of viable prospective new customers and associated opportunities. 

  • Design and articulate complex business solutions to prospective new customers that demonstrate the full suite of relevant Tag products, services, and value propositions.

  • Lead Tag new business engagements (including but not limited to) RFx response, consultative assessments, due diligence, commercial pricing, proposals, presentations, legal/risk review, and presentations. 

Act as a leader of the business, championing a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, emphasizing learning and a commitment to quality and professionalism: 

  • Keep abreast of industry, economic/business trends and advancements that may affect potential new business opportunities, and apply knowledge in a timely and effective manner.

  • Work with bid support to ensure all business development documents have useful content, are high quality, brand compliant, and delivered on deadline.

  • Share knowledge, best practices and solution designs within assigned business unit to ensure continuous business improvement.

  • Mentor Business Development (and other) team members to elevate our offering and our capabilities.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS 

  • Frequent contact with senior members of business development, creative operations, market client leadership, and executive leadership teams

  • Requirement to form effective working relationships with senior executives, subject matter experts and functional support (e.g. finance, HR, IT) 

  • Will create/foster relationships with current and prospective clients 

  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least 10 years of experience in business development and/or consulting within the marketing, creative or production industries is essential, ideally selling to global brands/advertisers and advertising agencies (experience in Life Science, Retail, CPG, and Financial Service industries is preferred) 

  • At least 10 years of experience in agency environments (holding company preferred) with established networks and deep subject matter expertise in advertising, marketing and/or creative production 

  • A Bachelors degree, preferably in Business Administration or a Marketing / Communications related discipline; a combination of education and experience can be substituted. 

New Business Acumen 

  • Demonstrated track record of managing and growing a large portfolio of new business opportunities, overachieving sales targets

  • Proactive approach to identifying new opportunities for growth and prioritizing based on right-to-win, opportunity size, and brand alignment 

  • Problem-solver who can separate noise from news and lead the orchestration of complex solutions across multiple stakeholders with sometimes conflicting priorities 

  • Demonstrated expertise in driving through an RFP process, including writing/reviewing sales proposals and/or business documents  

  • Ability to develop trusted relationships at senior levels, including the C-Suite, to successfully drive opportunities through all stages of the sales cycle 

  • Self-directed/motivated and able to perform/manage/coordinate a wide range of simultaneous activities; achieving success with minimal oversight in a high-pressure, challenging and sometimes ambiguous work environment 

Interpersonal Acumen 

  • Ability to manage and deliver complex projects involving large, cross-functional teams; collaborating to build consensus on matters of significance and overcome obstacles

  • Collaborative, results driven team player with outstanding interpersonal skills and strong desire to achieve results while respecting the company's core values framework 

  • Fluent communication skills, business acumen and assertive decision-making ability coupled with superior speaking and presentation skills.  

Operational Acumen 

  • Understanding of the Marketing and Creative Operations/Production lifecycle, specifically the underlying workflows, technologies, staffing and commercial models; procurement / sourcing expertise a plus

  • Experience writing, reviewing and formatting sales proposals, presentations and business documents with the appropriate level of software proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office) 

  • Thrives in a highly energized sales and metrics-driven culture that enables and expects high performance

  • Hybrid office environment and up to 25% travel may be required
