SALARY: $192,000-$228,000, bonus and long-term incentive eligible

ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President, Communications – the Senior Director, Corporate Communications will operate as a strategist and team leader, serving as a cross-functional campaign director, connecting internal teams, and ensuring alignment toward achieving Anheuser-Busch’s reputation objectives. This person will manage several direct reports who oversee proactive and reactive external communications, including public affairs/government relations, crisis/issues, community impact, executive positioning, and corporate reputation campaigns. This position is based in New York City.
As a hands-on leader, s/he will oversee the successful execution of work in close collaboration with senior leaders at the company across State & Federal Government Affairs, Community Impact, Labor Relations, Brewing, Procurement, Sales, Marketing, and more.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
In partnership with the Vice President, Communications, lead the development and execution of one- and three-year communications plans, aligned with the company’s goals and growth objectives while delivering measurable outcomes. This includes:
identifying and leveraging opportunities to enhance reputation and drive business success;
creating awareness and appreciation for the company, its leaders, and its products;
managing integrated earned, owned, and paid media strategies, with a premium placed on a sophisticated digital marketing;
driving stakeholder engagement across all relevant internal and external audiences.
Serve as an effective liaison for cross-functional teams, with a strong understanding of company priorities.
Build and maintain working relationships with external stakeholders, including communications/public affairs agencies, government officials, non-profit organizations, corporate partners, and national media, with the ability to leverage these relationships at important junctures.
Develop and test campaign key messages to effectively communicate to target audiences.
Manage budget forecasting and tracking.
Ensure that activities undertaken, and decisions made within the area of responsibility are consistent with and are informed by available research and measurement information, creating an evidence-based approach to communications.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 15 years of corporate communications experience, with an emphasis on public affairs and corporate reputation management, either in-house or at an agency is required.
Some experience on political campaigns preferred.
Ability to interact with and present to the senior executive team.
Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize communication strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support business needs.
Outstanding writing skills in different formats, including announcements, statements, articles, broadcast messages, letters, and more.
Some digital media and targeted advertising experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of corporate brand, reputation management, issue-based communications, crisis management, and influencing via digital media.
The inclination to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization's overall strategy.
An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industry.
Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
A leader who is viewed by others as having a high degree of integrity and forethought in their approach to making decisions; the ability to act transparently and consistently while always considering what is best for the organization.
