Position Overview
The ANA is expanding its marketing team and currently hiring across a number of roles focused on marketing and campaign strategy, development and execution. The Senior Director of Marketing & Campaign Development will play a vital role in this expanded team, serving as the operational leader who translates strategic vision into executable integrated campaigns. This role reports to the VP, Marketing & Brand, and serves as a bridge between strategy and execution—developing campaign concepts, managing stakeholder relationships across the ANA, and leading copywriting and operational team members to deliver high-performing campaigns that drive membership, engagement, sponsorship, and brand outcomes.
In this hands-on leadership role, you'll develop campaign strategies, create compelling briefs, serve as the day-to-day agency liaison, and ensure seamless campaign coordination across the marketing team.

Campaign Strategy & Development (40%)
Experience
Starting pay range: $115,000 to $125,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Development (40%)
- Translate strategic priorities and business unit needs into integrated campaign strategies
- Develop campaign concepts for key initiatives: conferences, research launches, thought leadership, membership drives, sponsorship activations, training and more
- Create comprehensive campaign briefs that guide creative and operational execution
- Define campaign objectives, target audiences, messaging frameworks, success metrics
- Lead campaign ideation sessions with internal stakeholders and agency partners
- Ensure campaigns align with ANA's messaging platform and brand guidelines
- Develop Membership and Sponsorship collateral as needed
- Serve as primary marketing partner to Membership, Sponsorship, and Practice teams
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand business objectives and translate them into marketing requirements
- Present campaign strategies and creative concepts to internal stakeholders
- Manage expectations, timelines, and feedback loops with business unit leaders
- Build trusted advisor relationships across the organization
- Serve as day-to-day contact for external agency partners on campaign execution
- Brief agency on campaign objectives, creative direction, and deliverables
- Review and provide feedback on agency-developed creative concepts and assets
- Coordinate between agency capabilities and internal team resources
- Manage agency workflow, timelines, and budget allocation for campaigns
- Ensure agency work aligns with brand standards and strategic objectives
- Provide direction to Director, Senior Copywriter and Associate Manager, Campaign Operations
- Review and approve creative briefs, copy, and campaign assets
- Guide team on campaign prioritization and resource allocation
- Mentor direct reports on strategic thinking and campaign development
- Lead weekly team planning and status meetings
- Foster collaborative, results-driven team culture
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years in marketing with significant campaign development and management experience
- Agency background or in-house marketing with integrated campaign responsibility
- Experience in B2B, professional services, or association marketing is a plus
- Proven track record developing successful multi-channel campaigns
- History of managing stakeholder relationships and driving alignment
- Experience working with creative agencies and managing external partners
- Campaign Strategy: Translates business objectives into compelling marketing strategies
- Creative Thinking: Develops fresh concepts and provides meaningful creative direction
- Stakeholder Management: Builds trust and influences across organizational levels
- Project Leadership: Manages multiple campaigns concurrently with competing priorities
- Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal presentation skills
- Agency Management: Knows how to get the best work from external partners
- Deep understanding of integrated marketing (paid, owned, earned channels)
- Familiarity with marketing technology platforms (CRM, email, social, analytics)
- Experience developing campaign briefs and creative briefs
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools
- Solid understanding of marketing metrics and campaign performance analysis
