The Senior Director, New Product Expansion will be the single threaded leader responsible for guiding the strategy and execution for new T-Mobile Financial Services products. They will negotiate commercial terms and implement a product roadmap that significantly enhances these product offerings and help solve unmet customer needs while improving revenue opportunities for T-Mobile. They will act as a primary interface for both internal T-Mobile senior leadership and top executives on external the partner's side. Their decisions and roadmap will redefine how customers interact with T-Mobile for their day-to-day financial needs.
This new leader will bring deep subject matter expertise in Financial Services, product development lifecycle and cross-functional collaboration to establish a shared vision for the future generation of Financial Services products by building consensus across the company on priorities leading to product execution.
At T-Mobile, our goal is to provide financial service products for every customer across our diverse businesses from prepaid to postpaid. We will strategically launch products that expands access to all customers covering varied consumer financial stages!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Owns the end-to-end roadmap and delivery of the multi-wave product expansion strategy from initial MVP launches to subsequent enhancement/feature releases to drive company profits.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with external customers. Intimately understands customers’ business strategies, generate new ideas and product strategies that are appropriately aligned. This covers individual product strategy as well as an overarching strategy for the portfolio/platform(s).
  • Creates, owns, plans, and manages a portfolio of high-quality products & services through a lifecycle of envisioning/investing/innovating. Defines KPIs and metrics to measure Product performance.
  • Understand T-Mobile’s strategic and competitive position and deliver product experiences that are recognized as the best in the industry. Drives innovation, thought leadership, improvement, and adoption of industry-leading practices.
  • Lead a team to conduct market research and analysis, building business cases and working with senior execs leading base marketing, T-Ads, loyalty & retention, and campaigns to package products for customers.
  • Run multiple RFPs, negotiate commercial contracts, and make high judgement decisions that set the company up for long term success.
  • Overall P&L management with external financial institutions like banks, processors, payment networks and other Fin-Techs.
  • The products this team will launch are expected to supplement existing book of work and roadmap for T-Mobile’s other financial products while finding opportunities to create synergistic growth with other lines of business.
  • Responsible for setting up LRP targets with FP&A that are achievable and work through Product, Design, IT, Cyber Security, Corporate Strategy and other key internal partner groups like Marketing, Studios, and Brand to launch products and manage long term.
  • Employs qualitative and quantitative data to create clear and measurable goals for the team aligned to company, department, and functional area objectives.
  • Responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining a high-performing team of Product Managers, Program Managers, Business Development Managers and other product management staff to support products and platforms.
  • Regularly conducts organizational design thinking/strategy to best structure the team and leverage resources, using a mix of employees, managed services, and other partners where applicable. This includes periodic reviews of current and anticipated aggregate staffing capacity.
  • Develops and maintains culture, process, and consistent action for continuous improvement across Agile teams.
  • Leads and directs the continual improvement of enterprise-scale services, processes, and tools.
  • Accountable for department budget, delivery and service performance, optimizing cost of service delivery, and ensuring services are meeting or exceeding service levels.

Education and Work Experience:

  • More than 10 years Product Management experience in Financial Services and an agile software product development environment. Advanced level understanding of customer experience.
  • 5+ years leading teams of 5 or more Manager level direct reports with skip-level employees.
  • Strong knowledge of contract negotiations, RFP processes, and end to end product development.
  • Proven track record of launching new financial products to millions of consumers.
  • General Management and P&L experience highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent; Masters Preferred.

Base Pay Range: $207,700 - $280,900

Corporate Bonus Target: 35%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
