As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within Consumer & Community Banking, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.
Job responsibilities
- Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firm-wide technology objectives with a focus on Digital Identity
- Manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus
- Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
- Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives
- Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
- Experience in managing large teams and organizations, with a track record of successful leadership in complex, matrixed environments in Customer Identity and Access Management Domain.
- Experience in developing and implementing Customer/Digital Identity strategies in a large organization, including having a focus on Agentic Identity & Fraud
- Experience in implementing Identity Verification & Proofing as a service across the organization with a Platform mindset.
- Experience in working with leading vendors in Digital Identity Domain.
- Experience in designing & implementing Digital Identity as a verifiable credential with in and outside of organization, using standards like ODIC4VC.
- Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
- Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
- Deep expertise building and operating large scale high performance transactional environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Deep expertise with enterprise design patterns and industry best practices with experience using modern technology (e.g., Java, GO, Native Mobile, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (e.g., micro services, APIs)
- Experience with building, leading and mentoring technology teams and next level leaders within the organization.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks. Quality first with a startup mindset.
- Experience in managing Mobile teams or interfacing with how to implement Mobile apps.
- AWS Certification or GCP.
- SRE mindset Culture/Approaches: To run better production systems by creating engineering solutions to operational problems.
- Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as GO, Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript
- Infrastructure budgeting and finances. Infrastructure cost optimization
