Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design, planning, and construction support for semiconductor fabs, clean rooms, central utility buildings, and associated support facilities across U.S. sites.
- Serve as the architectural SME, ensuring design quality, code compliance, life safety requirements, and alignment with operational needs throughout all project phases.
- Develop, review, and integrate architectural systems including building layouts, building envelopes, cleanroom environments, interiors, and space programming.
- Collaborate with Structural, Civil, MEP, Process Engineering, design consultants, and construction teams to deliver coordinated facility solutions.
- Lead life safety planning and regulatory compliance efforts, including permitting, AHJ coordination, occupancy classifications, fire-rated assemblies, and fire protection integration.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, BIM models, and delegated design packages to ensure compliance with Micron standards and project requirements.
- Support construction execution through RFI review, submittal evaluations, field support, and resolution of design-related issues while maintaining design intent.
- Drive continuous improvement, standardization initiatives, and adoption of AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot or equivalent) to enhance engineering and design workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of architectural design experience supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial, or other complex facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes, IBC, NFPA standards, permitting processes, and life safety design principles.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and delivering projects using BIM-based design and documentation tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of cleanroom design requirements, contamination control principles, and operational facility constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Architect (RA) license or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience serving as Architect of Record (AOR), Resident Architect, or lead architectural subject area engineer on large capital projects.
- Experience supporting fast-track, phased, or design-build project delivery methods.
- Multi-state architectural licensure or eligibility to obtain additional state registrations.
- Experience developing facility standards, design guidelines, or enterprise-wide standardization initiatives.
