The Auth0 platform secures more than 100 million logins each day for customers all around the world - and we're growing fast! The Data Platform team builds and operates critical cross-cutting data services that power this platform and help achieve scale, reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence. As the Senior Manager for the team, you will get to work with engineers throughout the organization, influence the platform roadmap, and build foundational infrastructure that allows Auth0 to scale for years to come.

You will...
  • Build and lead an inclusive, diverse agile software development team focused on value delivery, and with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and site reliability engineering
  • Build a culture of discovery, learning, and experimentation on a geo-distributed team through continuous coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to design a highly-scalable, robust, extensible services using modern, proven tools and technologies such as go, node.js, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure
  • Experience building and managing data streaming teams utilizing an event driven architecture and Kafka
  • Partner with product management and engineering leadership to define the platform roadmap that enables the next generation of identity products. Lead planning, execution, and delivery of data platform services.
  • Implement process improvements that drive operational excellence and create efficiency during a time of massive growth
  • Drive improvements on aspects such as test automation, code quality, and performance and cost efficiency
  • Maintain our high security, performance and availability SLA’s as we rapidly scale for customers with 100M+ monthly active users

  • Experience developing scalable distributed systems, APIs, microservices for SaaS products
  • 3+ years of experience managing a geo-dispersed software engineering team
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others, across organizational boundaries and despite differences in priorities
  • Experience hiring and mentoring top technical talent at different experience levels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively interface with business, executive, and technical teams
  • Outstanding quality orientation and a demonstrated ability to build and lead a high-performance team
  • Technical leadership experience in design, implementation, and support of platform services that are highly reliable, extensible, and scalable. You can apply good judgment to the steepest of software engineering challenges
  • Experience with agile software development balanced with enterprise software customer needs
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company and are comfortable with putting systems in place and adjusting and adapting when needed

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington is between:
$207,000$284,000 USD
