GovSignals is next-gen acquisition for the Department of War.

It can take the government longer to buy a capability than an adversary takes to field one, and we exist to close that gap.

We're the only startup managing government contract data with AI in both FedRAMP High and DoW Impact Level 5 environments. Our platform monitors 5,000+ live government data sources, 100,000+ federal and state agencies, and 2,000,000+ government contracts in real time. Our customers in government include offices like DIU and SOCOM, and our customers in industry range from small contractors to Fortune 500 primes with billions in annual awards.

Senior Federal Deployment Strategist

New York, NY • Full-time • Hybrid (3+ days/week in office or on customer sites)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring Federal Deployment Strategists to expand our deployment team. You'll work directly with the CPO and own Department of War programs from the first conversation with the program office through renewal.

You're responsible for each customer getting measurable value: faster market research, compressed acquisition lead times, and awards that close on schedule. You'll help win each program, then set it up and grow it. When a contracting officer asks what a clause in the agreement means, you are the one who answers. The work arrives as a program rather than a plan, and you decide how to get it to adoption.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Help our federal team win new programs: shape the requirement, write proposal sections and SOW/PWS language, and price the work.

  • Lead discovery with each customer, then build the deployment plan around how their teams work.

  • Configure the platform and train government users until GovSignals is part of their daily work.

  • Drive expansion and renewals through documented mission outcomes and new use cases across program offices and commands.

  • Work closely with the Product Engineering team to improve the platform and customer experience.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years in customer-facing roles at companies that sell to the government.

  • You've personally owned a Department of War or Intelligence Community customer, from winning the work through renewal. What you did matters more than your title.

  • You've written proposals, SOW language, or pricing that won work, and your writing holds up with a contracting officer.

  • Deep understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, from requirements through contract administration.

  • Technical enough to understand APIs, data flows, and integrations, and to work a problem through with an engineer.

Nice to have: FedRAMP High or IL5 deployments; the FAR and DFARS; OTAs and consortiums; time at a defense tech startup, in the military, or in a DoW program office.

Clearance: not required. An active or previous clearance is a plus.

THE TEAM

GovSignals was founded by four cofounders who lived with this problem from both sides (selling to the government and serving inside it) with backgrounds across the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Department of Energy, Palantir, Amazon, federal contractors building for missiles, and state contractors building for prisons. You'll work directly with all four. Other team members at GovSignals have shipped to defense companies, scaled venture-backed startups, and founded companies of their own.

HOW WE WORK

Design by HI (Human Intelligence), Work by AI (Artificial Intelligence). Human Intelligence takes responsibility for what we build and how we communicate to customers. Artificial Intelligence does much of the building. We provide unlimited Claude and ChatGPT credits for reasonable use, and we expect you to come in with extensive AI experience.

HOW WE HIRE
  • Intro conversation (30 min): your background and the programs you've owned.

  • Working session (45 min): take a real-world inspired DoW requirement from proposal to onboarding.

  • Co-founder conversations (15 min): meet the cofounders.

  • Meet the team in person: time with the team at our Washington, DC or Brooklyn, NY office.

  • Offer.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Base Salary: $140,000 – $200,000

  • Bonus: Additional performance bonus

  • Equity: Meaningful stake in a well-funded, fast-growing startup

  • Benefits: medical, vision, and dental, unlimited PTO

  • Brooklyn Navy Yard office, 3+ days a week in person or on customer sites. Regular travel to customer sites, sometimes several days a week for weeks at a time. The Yard built ships for the Navy from 1801 to 1966, now we build systems for Navy program offices.

Due to the nature of our government work, this role is open only to U.S. citizens and other U.S. Persons. GovSignals is an equal opportunity employer.
