Job Summary
The Senior Finance Analyst supports the financial performance and strategic initiatives of an assigned Line of Business (LOB) or department. This role plays a key part in delivering actionable insights through financial modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis. The analyst collaborates closely with Finance Managers and LOB partners to ensure accurate reporting, identify trends, and support decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Essential Functions

  • Assist in the development and enhancement of driver-based forecast models to support financial planning and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and variance analyses, highlighting key trends and potential risks or opportunities.
  • Analyze macroeconomic and business trends and translate them into financial impacts.
  • Support profitability analysis across client segments and product lines using advanced analytics.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track progress against strategic and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and LOB teams to support transparency and alignment on performance metrics.
  • Contribute to monthly business reviews by preparing materials and identifying key discussion points.
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline reporting processes and automate manual tasks.
  • Support Finance initiatives and ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience (preferred)

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of analytical experience in Finance (required)
  • Banking or financial services (preferred)
  • Experience supporting forecasting, budgeting, or financial reporting processes. (required)

Licenses and Certifications

  • CPA or CFA (preferred)

Skills

  • Ability to build and maintain forecast models that reflect business drivers and scenarios.
  • Strong skills in interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and drawing actionable insights.
  • Understanding of financial services and how financial decisions impact business outcomes.
  • Ability to present findings clearly to Finance and business partners.
  • Experience tracking KPIs and supporting performance reviews.
  • Interest in identifying inefficiencies and supporting automation initiatives.
  • Skilled in Excel and familiar with tools such as Tableau, Workday, TM1, or Adaptive Planning.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and support senior analysts or managers.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
