Newmark is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst for the Private Capital Markets team based in New York City.
The New York Private Capital Markets team is responsible for sourcing and executing transactions involving commercial real estate investment sales for deal sizes ranging from $5 million to $75 million. The team, led by Daniel O’Brien and Brett Siegel, focuses on all property types including multifamily, retail, office and industrial located within the five boroughs.
The candidate will work directly with senior members of the firm offering substantial growth and upward mobility within a team environment.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
- Financial underwriting of commercial property cash flows including due diligence review and transaction execution using Microsoft Excel and ARGUS
- Perform in-depth real estate, company, and market research / analysis
- Prepare pitch presentations, investment memoranda and various marketing materials for distribution to potential investors
Candidates must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, personal motivation, and distinguished written and oral communication skills. It is strongly preferred that your background includes:
5-7 years of Commercial Real Estate experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong ARGUS, financial analysis, and modeling skills
Experience with financial modeling and understanding of basic financial concepts (DCF, IRR, capitalization rates, etc.)
Enthusiastic self-starter who is proactive, entrepreneurial, and can work both as part of a team and independently
Strong work ethic, incredibly interpersonal, and organized with strong attention to detail
Excellent grammar and written/verbal communications skills
Ability to interact professionally with clients at various levels
Ability to consistently produce high-quality work under tight time frames
Ability to manage multiple projects with hard deadlines
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with coursework in economics, financial accounting, corporate finance, or real estate
Salary Range Language:
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
