Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst - Ameritrack Rail

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and assist with monthly and quarterly closing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and tax filings.
• Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.

Accounting Operations

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Perform account reconciliations and review journal entries to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
• Perform other projects as assigned.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in variance analysis and management reporting.
• Assist with various finance-related projects, such as system implementations, process automation, and policy enhancements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required.
• Experience:
  • 4 -5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet).
  • Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
