Responsibilities
- Architect & Build: Design and implement the backend infrastructure for a scalable, AI-driven forms engine that supports family law, workers' comp, and bankruptcy verticals.
- AI Integration: Implement and optimize "AI-first" workflows, including auto-mapping models and evaluation harnesses to automate the conversion of PDF forms into digital workflows.
- Legacy Migration: Lead the technical strategy for migrating data and logic from a legacy platform, ensuring zero data loss and maintaining compliance standards.
- Performance & Scale: Ensure the platform is "e-filing ready" and capable of handling high-volume, concurrent usage from large enterprise and government clients.
- Mentorship & Review: Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure high-quality standards, serving as a key "knowledge bridge" in the absence of the Lead Architect.
- Tooling & DevOps: Collaborate with SREs to build robust CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and automated diff/repair mechanisms for form updates.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience & Education
Experience Level: Senior-level expertise with 6+ years of software engineering experience (minimum 5+ years specifically in backend development).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Technical SkillsBackend Proficiency: Strong mastery of C# and .NET (version 8.0+). Additional proficiency in Node.js or Python is highly valued.
Frontend Experience: Competency with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Svelte.
Soft Skills & CommunicationStakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical risks, architectural decisions, and project progress to stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)Modern API Tech: Experience with GraphQL.
Cloud & Infrastructure: Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.
Optimization: Experience building high-availability applications and performing advanced performance optimization.
Domain Context: Familiarity with Filevine’s specific tech stack.
