About Endless Studios:

E-Line Media and Endless Network have formed a partnership to create a new venture (Endless Studios) that harnesses the power of games and digital creation experiences to create a Metaverse of Learning -- where youth play to learn and learn to make, as they build skills to thrive in a rapidly changing, globally connected world.

Endless Studios' first major software offering Endstar is available for free download (www.endlessstudios.com). Endstar is a community-driven creation sandbox game where you can create, play, and share all in real-time multiplayer. Endstar features a strong emphasis on learning through creation including design, art, and coding pathways.

The Company’s first service, Endless Studios (www.endlessstudios.com), operates as a highly-distributed, youth-centered game making studio where teens and young adults apprentice with game industry pros and other aspiring game makers to create games using The Endless Mission, Unity, and other creation tools.

About the position:

We are seeking an experienced Gameplay Engineer to help contribute to Endstar's development as well as helping to integrate the community into our development via mentoring, live demos, and code reviews. Endstar is built in Unity and features real-time and asynchronous play and collaborative game making, as well as UGC content creation and discovery. This position will heavily deal with mentoring and code reviews in addition to direct contribution. This is a full time, work-from-home position.

As our Senior Gameplay Engineer, you will …

  • Work directly with the Lead Engineer and core team on internal development for Endstar;
  • Directly oversee student interns from around the world in a make-to-learn internship environment;
  • Give detailed feedback on code reviews and approvals on pull requests;

We are looking for someone who has …

  • Three or more years professional programming in Unity (using C#);
  • Shipped one or more games built in Unity;
  • High self-motivation and drive;
  • The ability to actively participate and offer creative solutions to game design challenges;
  • Excellent communication and team skills;
  • The ability to effectively collaborate with a team of other programmers, artists, and designers;
  • Heavy experience crafting moment to moment gameplay feel;
  • Proficient in writing technical documentation;

It’s a bonus if you have …

  • Experience implementing networked gameplay;
  • Experience supporting a live service;
  • Familiarity with Unity’s NetCode for GameObjects (formerly MLAPI);
  • Experience mentoring or teaching students to code;
  • Samples of completed Unity game projects you have directly contributed to;
  • Prior experience developing for or supporting learning, especially learning to make games.

Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background verification screening.

Endless Studios values diverse perspectives and voices on our teams and encourages applications from people of backgrounds that have traditionally been underrepresented in the games industry. Endless Studios provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
