For this role, we are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Software Engineer to join our mapping client team. In this role, you will design and develop features for Lyft rider and driver apps by leveraging our data-rich mapping stack to build delightful experiences for our customers and help them discover and explore their surroundings during their rideshare journeys.  

We build apps used by millions of people, and we take great pride in our work. This means excellent development practices, careful code architecture, and an organization built around rapid releases. Our codebase is written entirely in Swift with modern design patterns and coding standards. We rely on 3rd party libraries and contribute back to the community (including the Swift language itself).

Responsibilities:
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable and maintainable code
  • Build great UX for millions of users
  • Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to build complex products
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members
  • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
  • Lead large projects from idea to positive execution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to write tech specs and improve documentation.
Experience:
  • Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building high-quality mobile applications
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Swift and familiarity with architecture paradigms like unidirectional data flow and reactive programming
  • Design Collaboration: Experience with tools like figma and keen eye for designing application for a diverse set of customers
  • Team Player: Someone who can thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional and distributed team environment.

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York area is $148,000-$185,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
