About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Credit Risk Officer to join the CIB Credit Portfolio Oversight team. The successful candidate will report to the head of CIB Credit Portfolio Oversight and will work closely with the other CIB and Wholesale Credit Risk teams and front-line partners.
This second line-of-defense role focuses on holistically assessing credit risk across the CIB lines of business, with the Senior Lead Credit Risk Officer having primary responsibility to actively identify, monitor and manage risks within the loan portfolio, effectively challenging and escalating emerging risks as needed.
In this role, you will:

$185,000.00 - $300,000.00

In this role, you will:
- Monitor, assess and report on asset quality and portfolio trends, with a focus on initiative-taking and forward-looking indicators.
- Provide credible challenge of line of business credit products, programs, and risk limits.
- Advise senior leadership to develop and implement strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite.
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges to drive the company credit culture, appetite, and business performance requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or companywide.
- Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and business portfolio managers to resolve issues efficiently and effectively and ad hoc requests.
- Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on credit risk related topics.
- 7+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Strong credit and financial analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively build relationships within a matrixed environment to influence outcomes within Corporate & Investment Banking.
- Proven ability to monitor risk exposures at the group, line of business and product levels.
- Ability to identify and monitor current and emerging risks and take appropriate action when business activities exceed established risk appetite levels.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in designing and executing robust processes and controls.
- Ability to influence and consult strategically across a large organization and with various levels of leadership/stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
