As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platform Chief Administration Office Technology, team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
  • Regularly provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
  • Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Serve as a lead technologist to manage workload across Associate level software engineers
  • Add to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s); primarily React front-end development, Java core platform, and Python frameworks for applying against RESTful and GraphQL API development
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.), including GitHub Copilot for developer assistant tooling
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Strong knowledge of building cross-functional data integrated systems using API, data streaming via Kafka to allow for seamless data exchange under a unified end user experience
  • Practical cloud native experience, primarily in AWS while applying cloud concepts to private cloud platforms
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Full stack development knowledge with strong enterprise architecture design concepts to allow for unified user experience leveraging data sharing capabilities with API, Kafka
  • Conceptual knowledge on building AI/ML foundational models to support Agentic AI orchestration including LLM components
  • Case management workflow and orchestration to serve as the backbone of a unified user experience across multiple cross-functional teams
  • Vibe coding experience and conceptual knowledge while leveraging developer assistant tools like GitHub Copilot to allow for efficiency gains
  • Data modeling concepts and design
