Why this role is important to us
The Senior Manager, Business Development plays a pivotal role in accelerating SimCorp’s commercial growth by identifying new market opportunities, shaping strategic partnerships, and driving initiatives that expand SimCorp’s presence across the Americas. With a focus on uncovering high‑value prospects and strengthening long‑term client relationships, this role helps ensure that our business development efforts are aligned to SimCorp’s broader growth strategy.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and other cross‑functional teams, the Senior Manager leads and executes business development strategies that support revenue goals and deepen customer engagement. By translating market insights into actionable opportunities, this role directly contributes to SimCorp’s ability to win new business, expand existing relationships, and enhance our competitive positioning.
What you will be responsible for
Lead business development initiatives to identify and pursue new business opportunities and revenue streams
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients to drive business growth
Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to develop tailored solutions for new business opportunities
Develop and manage a pipeline of business opportunities, ensuring consistent progress toward revenue goals
Collaborate with senior leadership to define business development strategies and set objectives that align with company goals
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, market needs, and areas for growth
Negotiate and close business agreements and contracts with clients, ensuring alignment with SimCorp’s objectives and standards
Monitor business development performance and report on progress to senior management
Mentor and guide junior business development staff in best practices and strategies for building client relationships and driving growth
What we value
5–8 years of progressive experience in business development, sales leadership, or strategic growth roles within FinTech, capital markets, SaaS, or financial services.
Proven ability to both execute and lead — with a track record of personally driving pipeline or deals while coaching and developing high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of the buy-side investment ecosystem (asset managers, asset owners, insurers, hedge funds), with the ability to engage credibly across front, middle, and back-office stakeholders.
Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to translate market insight into actionable growth initiatives.
Experience building, managing, and forecasting pipeline, including setting targets, tracking performance metrics, and reporting outcomes to senior leadership.
Ability to analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and client needs to shape business development strategies and prioritize high-value opportunities.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with experience mentoring junior team members and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
Willingness to travel as required.
Flexibility to attend SimCorp office 2x/week as per our hybrid policy.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $140,000- $175,000 USD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.
For Toronto only: The salary range for this position is $140,000-175,000 CAD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including health and dental care, time off and Group RRSP/TFSA. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance
