Job Title: Senior Manager, Campaign Research
Reports to: Director, Campaign Research
Start Date: ASAP
Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
Location: Remote with occasional in-person time. 

OVERVIEW:
Greenlight America is the leading grassroots campaign force powering the nation’s clean energy transition at the local level. Founded in 2023, we educate, empower, and mobilize volunteers to make their voices heard and win permitting approvals for clean energy projects in their communities. In the past two years we have advanced roughly 15 gigawatts of clean power to the grid, approximately 10x the size of the Hoover Dam.

POSITION OVERVIEW: 
The Senior Manager, Campaign Research plays a central role in Greenlight’s research and campaigns work, including supervising a team of researchers that evaluates clean energy projects seeking local approvals and provides strategic analysis to support the design and execution of effective campaigns. As a senior member of Greenlight’s research team, the Senior Manager, Campaign Research will also have an important voice in shaping the overall strategic direction of Greenlight’s research work and research-informed strategy, and in identifying opportunities in expansion states as Greenlight grows. A successful candidate for this position will be a skilled researcher and strategist, and an excellent writer and communicator. They will be highly creative and willing to take risks, and capable of managing early-career researchers in a fast-growing organization. The position is remote and reports to the Director, Campaign Research.  

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, execute and and manage core research program/s as assigned to identify, evaluate, and support Greenlight’s campaigns to enable clean energy approvals at the local level
  • Lead a team of researchers to identify, evaluate, and support campaigns in support of Greenlight’s campaigns
  • Supervise a team of researchers to develop and grow their ability to create research products to a high standard of quality, and put in place standards and processes to support professional development
  • Regularly evaluate and improve the quality and speed of research products and processes to drive campaign outcomes
  • Assess research needs and develop workplans to meet them, including identifying and acquiring unique data sources, hiring vendors and contractors, and determining and recruiting for staffing needs. 
  • Work closely with Greenlight’s research, campaigns, communications, and partnership staff to develop research products that meet strategic needs and advance organizational priorities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of experience managing and performing research for advocacy and campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a core research area or defined scope of work
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing staff to ensure high performing teams that achieve organizational goals
  • Experience identifying and acquiring data sources and tools, including in new research areas 
  • Willingness to think creatively, take risks, objectively evaluate results, and iterate 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills 
  • Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The base annual salary for this position is $90,000-$120,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
