Company Description

Farther is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology - delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience.

Farther’s founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. We’re backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders.

Joining Farther means joining a collaborative team of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping their clients and our teammates achieve more. If you’re the type who breaks through walls to get things done the right way, we want to build the future of wealth management with you.

The Role

As the Senior Manager, Data Engineering at Farther, you will own the data platform powering a modern, technology-driven wealth management firm — the security master, custodial pipelines, and canonical financial models every downstream system depends on.

The platform is already in production. Your mandate is to take it much further: define the roadmap, own it end-to-end, and execute — growing the team and expanding what the platform makes possible across the firm, including the AI systems built on top of it.

Your Impact
  • Own and execute the data platform roadmap — from custodial ingestion through the security master to AI-ready data products
  • Lead and grow the data engineering team, setting the bar for technical quality
  • Own the firm's security master: reference data, corporate actions, and golden-source resolution across vendors
  • Design canonical models unifying accounts, positions, and transactions across Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, and other custodians
  • Drive data quality, reconciliation, lineage, and governance across regulated datasets
The Ideal Match
  • 8+ years in data platform roles, with 4+ years managing data teams
  • Deep security master experience — instrument reference data, corporate actions, multi-vendor golden-source resolution
  • Prior experience on the data team at a broker/dealer
  • Exceptional data modeling skills — schemas that are correct, extensible, and built to last
  • Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, AWS, and Python
  • A builder's mindset — energized by scaling a strong foundation into something category-defining
Technical Stack
  • PostgreSQL, Python, SQL
  • AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS Fargate, Glue, Athena, Step Functions)
  • Parquet-based data lake, infrastructure-as-code (CDK), CI/CD-driven delivery
  • AI/agent integrations built on the platform (Anthropic, AWS Bedrock)
Bonus Points
  • Experience running a global or distributed data team
  • Bitemporal or point-in-time financial data modeling
  • Data governance, lineage, and fine-grained access control
  • Experience supporting AI/ML systems with production data products
