What we do
  • Founded in 2015, ReUp Education is the only organization that focuses exclusively on helping colleges and universities engage and re-enroll the more than 40 million US residents who have “stopped out” and support them until graduation, through our patented technology-enabled service. To date, we have re-enrolled over 57,000 students for our university partners.  As of July 2025, ReUp Education partners with 140 active schools and a total of 1.78 million learners.  To date, ReUp Education has helped 7,960 learners graduate. Today we build regional marketplaces to connect the supply of educational opportunities with the demand for skilled and credentialed workforce professionals.

About the role

  • ReUp Education is looking for a Senior Manager of Data Engineering to help us empower more adult learners and educational institutions by leading a team that ingests, transforms, stores, and provides access to the data powering our products and services. This is both a people leadership and technical delivery role, ideal for someone who enjoys coaching engineers and doing hands-on work as needed in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to translate business, client, and learner requirements into technical solutions for a rapidly growing company.

What you'll do

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, independence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Create and execute a Data Engineering roadmap that helps ReUp to achieve its goals.
  • Partner with technology, analytics, finance, B2B, and B2C teams to define data requirements, and design and develop solutions that drive value for ReUp’s clients and learners.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of data pipelines and warehouses that ingest, transform, store, and provide access to student and institutional data to power business intelligence products, ML models, cloud-based web applications, and marketing and coaching services.
  • Champion automation, observability, and performance to ensure ReUp’s pipeline efficiently and reliably delivers quality data to end users.
  • Proactively identify, triage, and resolve data quality and availability issues through root-cause analysis, remediation, monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Define and monitor SLAs for data quality, workflow status and runtime, incident response and resolution time, and team velocity.
  • Define and implement data engineering standards and best practices.
  • Support data security, compliance, and governance initiatives.

Qualifications

Research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups often only apply to jobs if they meet all of the qualifications. However, no one ever meets 100% of the qualifications. ReUp encourages you to break that statistic and to apply. We look forward to your application.

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a high-performing data engineering team.
  • Experience developing and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and warehouses in a production environment.
