Meet Upside:

We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.

Who You Are:

We’re hiring a Senior Manager, Lifecycle Programs to drive user and transaction growth across the middle and bottom of the funnel at Upside. Reporting into our VP of Growth Marketing, you will work in tandem with our Lead, Lifecycle Operations and partner cross-functionally with teams within the consumer marketing org and across Upside (ex Retail Go-To-Market, Partner Programs, Product, etc).

The Impact You'll Make:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who will define, implement, and scale core lifecycle strategies that convert users across their journey, deliver high-impact campaigns, and operate with excellence. We are looking for a highly organized and operational leader to manage a small team of lifecycle marketers and own our lifecycle roadmap for:

  • Core Lifecycle Conversion Programs: Develop full-funnel lifecycle strategies that drive conversion across key user stages—from onboarding and activation to engagement, retention, and winback. Ensure programs are rooted in insight, measurable, and aligned to core business outcomes.

  • Journey Mapping & Customer Experience: Design and optimize customer journeys by identifying critical touchpoints and difficulties. Build experiences that are seamless, personalized, and designed to deepen engagement across the entire lifecycle.

  • Integrated Campaign Oversight and Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns that consistently resonate with consumers and grow engagement across email, in-app messaging, push notifications, and other touchpoints.

  • Bonus & Incentive Programs: Own budget management and execution of value-driving incentive programs that fuel user behavior. Align bonus strategy with seasonal, merchant, and promotional priorities in partnership with cross-functional teams.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams within the consumer marketing organization, such as Acquisition, Product Marketing, Research & Insights, Coordinated Marketing, and Analytics to build positive relationships. Additionally, it will be critical to partner with teams across the organization like our extensive Merchant team to ensure prioritization and execution of our Retail-Go-To-Market and Merchant Partner Programs.

  • Automation, Personalization, and Innovation: Drive sophistication across lifecycle infrastructure with a focus on automation, personalization, and performance. Leverage experimentation, user segmentation, and emerging tools to continuously improve program effectiveness and scale.

Competencies You’ll Need:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Lifecycle Marketing and CRM, with a demonstrated track record of increasing consumer engagement and retention within a relevant B2C/consumer industry.

  • 4+ years of leading, mentoring, or developing high-performing teams

  • Deep expertise in customer retention, marketing operations, and marketing automation, with growing levels of responsibility.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Deep functional knowledge in marketing engagement platforms such as Iterable, Braze, Hubspot, and proficiency in SQL and Google Sheets.

  • Data-first decision maker with a test-and-learn approach. Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to interpret data into practical insights and achieve business results.

  • A collaborative approach with a proven ability to build strong, impactful partnerships across diverse teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade collaborators at all levels.

  • Email on Acid

  • Jira

  • Snowflake
