Dandy is transforming the massive and antiquated dental industry—an industry worth over $200B. Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Senior Product Design Manager to lead our Clinical Experience and Growth design teams.
This role will manage designers working across two critical areas of the Dandy platform:
Clinical Experience – This includes the Doctor Portal experience, where dentists manage their submitted patient cases with Dandy. These tools allow doctors to track case status, communicate with our team through chat and live support, and review upcoming case designs through our design review portal before production. This experience is critical to building trust and transparency with doctors once they begin working with Dandy.
Growth – The surfaces and experiences that help doctors grow their practice with Dandy. This includes tools that help practices understand their case pipeline, close more cases with patients, and ultimately increase case production and revenue across both our SMB and enterprise customers.
Together, these areas sit at the heart of how doctors interact with Dandy during patient care and practice management. Your team will design experiences that help dentists move confidently from patient consultation → case acceptance → in-flight case design review and approval → and practice growth.
As the design leader for these areas, you’ll be responsible for building and supporting a team of product designers, partnering closely with product and engineering leaders, and ensuring that the experiences we deliver are thoughtful, scalable, and grounded in real clinical workflows.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance team development, product strategy, and design quality across multiple high-impact initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Lead and Grow a High-Performing Design Team
Manage and support a team of product designers across Clinical Experience and Growth. Provide coaching, feedback, and career development to help designers expand their impact and ownership. Foster a culture of curiosity, autonomy, and thoughtful problem-solving.
Advocate for hiring when needed, and bring in designers to fill the roles that meet Dandy’s quality bar
Shape Product Direction with Cross-Functional Partners
Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Clinical experts, and Go-To-Market teams to shape the roadmap and product direction for these areas. Help translate complex clinical workflows and business goals into clear, user-centered product strategies.
Ensure High-Quality Design Across Complex Systems
Ensure your team delivers thoughtful, high-quality design work across complex workflows that span patient care, lab collaboration, and practice growth. Provide design guidance and feedback at key moments to help teams move quickly while maintaining a high bar for usability and clarity.
Advocate for Doctors and Their Workflows
Champion the perspective of dental practices in product decisions. Ensure that the tools we build reduce friction for doctors, support confident patient conversations, and help practices operate more effectively.
Connect Strategy to Execution
Help your team move from early exploration and vision to concrete product outcomes. Guide designers in framing problems, forming hypotheses, and delivering iterative improvements that move key business and user metrics forward.
Build Strong Cross-Team Alignment
Clinical workflows and growth experiences often span multiple parts of the platform. You’ll work across teams to ensure design decisions are consistent, scalable, and aligned with the broader product system.
Contribute to the Design Organization
As a design manager, you’ll also help shape the broader design organization—participating in hiring, refining design processes, and contributing to how design operates and grows at Dandy.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of product design experience, with at least 2+ years leading or managing product designers
Experience guiding teams through complex product areas, resulting in designs that had impacts against company goals and KRs
Strong product thinking and ability to partner with Product and Engineering leaders on roadmap direction
Demonstrated ability to coach designers and help them grow their craft, strategic thinking, and autonomy
Experience balancing business goals, technical constraints, and user needs
Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills
