Lead and coach a team of Partner Operations Specialists to build scalable operational frameworks, documentation, tooling, and cross-functional processes that enable Mercurys banking and product partnerships to launch and scale safely and efficiently.

Mercury is building a complete finance stack for startups. We work hard to create the easiest and safest banking* experience possible, helping founders spend less time thinking about financial infrastructure and more time building their businesses. You can explore our product at demo.mercury.com.

Behind every product we ship is a network of banking and payment partners that make those experiences possible. Those partnerships require more than great products. They require thoughtful operational systems, trusted relationships, and seamless execution across dozens of teams.

That's where Product Partner Operations comes in.

Product Partner Operations owns the strategy and execution behind the operational frameworks that enable Mercury's banking and product partnerships to scale. We build the systems, documentation, communication patterns, and partner relationships that create trust, reduce operational friction, and allow Mercury to launch ambitious products with confidence.

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Product Partner Operations to lead a team of Partner Operations Specialists supporting Mercury's Banking and Expansion product organizations.

This is a people leadership role first - you’ll help your team excel in their impact and sharpen their execution through thoughtful coaching, clear expectations, and operational rigor. You'll build the frameworks that allow the team to scale alongside Mercury, ensuring our operational systems become more resilient, our documentation more durable, and our cross-functional partnerships even stronger as we continue to grow.

You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Customer Support, and our external banking partners to improve how work moves across organizations. Whether you're introducing a new partner implementation, improving how partnership context is documented, or helping teams navigate organizational change, your work will make it easier for Mercury to build products that feel effortless for customers while maintaining the trust of our partners.

Secure, reliable, thoughtful, and perhaps even magical is how customers should describe banking on Mercury. Your team's work is one of the reasons they can. You'll build the operating frameworks, documentation, and partnerships that make extraordinary customer experiences feel effortless while ensuring Mercury continues to scale safely and confidently.

*Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Partner Operations Specialists through thoughtful feedback, clear expectations, and intentional career development.
  • Build durable operational frameworks that improve how Mercury manages existing and future product partnerships across Banking and Expansion.
  • Raise the bar for operational quality by improving documentation, knowledge management, and communication systems that reduce institutional dependencies and create lasting organizational context.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives, helping the team adopt new processes, tooling, and operating models while maintaining execution quality through periods of rapid growth.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Customer Support, and external banking partners to solve complex operational challenges and improve how work moves across organizations.
  • Establish and evolve performance metrics that measure operational health, partner experience, and team effectiveness.
  • Drive strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure the team is focused on the highest-impact work.
  • Champion scalable tooling and workflows, including Linear and other operational systems, ensuring Mercury's partnership context remains accurate, discoverable, and actionable.
  • Advocate for your team, creating alignment across stakeholders while protecting focus and helping others understand the strategic value of Product Partner Operations.
  • Help shape the long-term strategy for Mercury's product partnership ecosystem as we continue expanding our banking capabilities.
You should:
  • Have 7+ years of experience leading operational programs at a fintech, financial institution, or similarly complex, highly regulated environment.
  • Have 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Have demonstrated success partnering with Product, Engineering, Design, and cross-functional business leaders and Executives to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Be relentlessly curious, seeking to deeply understand how organizations work before introducing change.
  • Have experience leading operational change management and building alignment across many stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Be an exceptional written and verbal communicator who believes documentation is a strategic advantage, not an administrative task.
  • Have a track record of designing operational systems that reduce complexity, eliminate bottlenecks, and continue to scale long after they're introduced.
  • Be comfortable balancing long-term strategic initiatives with time-sensitive operational priorities.
  • Stay calm under pressure while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Be motivated to leverage tools, automation, and thoughtful process design to help the team scale its impact.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners alike.
  • Be deeply obsessed with quality, always asking how today's solution can continue serving Mercury years from now.
