Job Description: The Senior Manager, Quoting & Pricing provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s quoting and cost estimation function. This role owns pricing execution and governance across the business, ensuring quotes support competitive positioning, profitability, scalability, and long‑term growth. Operating as a senior leader, this role partners closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to translate business strategy into robust pricing models, disciplined cost structures, and efficient quoting processes. The Senior Manager is accountable for performance outcomes, talent development, and continuous transformation of the quoting function.

The salary range for this position will be $120,000- 125,000 annually with a 15% bonus eligibility.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Impact

  • Own the end‑to‑end quoting and pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with divisional and enterprise financial objectives.

  • Translate company and divisional strategy into executable pricing frameworks, cost models, and quoting policies.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on pricing competitiveness, margin performance, capacity constraints, and growth opportunities.

  • Lead the quoting function as a center of excellence, establishing standards, governance, and best practices.

  • Drive long‑range planning for quoting capabilities, tools, and organizational structure.

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing quoting organization through multi‑layer leadership, succession planning, and talent optimization.

  • Set clear performance expectations tied to business outcomes, accuracy, timeliness, and profitability.

  • Build leadership capability within the team through coaching, mentoring, and targeted development plans.

  • Partner with HR on workforce planning, hiring strategy, performance management, and corrective actions.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Pricing, Costing & Financial Stewardship

  • Develop and oversee pricing strategies that balance market competitiveness with sustainable margin and cost containment.

  • Ensure cost estimation methodologies accurately reflect materials, labor, overhead, and operational complexity.

  • Monitor and manage quoting performance against KPIs including turnaround time, win rate, margin health, and forecast accuracy.

  • Identify financial risks and opportunities within the quoting process and implement mitigation or optimization strategies.

  • Maintain strong financial discipline while supporting revenue growth initiatives.

Operational Excellence & Process Transformation

  • Direct day‑to‑day operations of the quoting function with accountability for efficiency, quality, and customer responsiveness.

  • Lead large‑scale process improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, automation, and workflow optimization.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and organizational standards across all quoting activities.

  • Establish strong communication cadences across functions to ensure alignment, issue escalation, and rapid decision‑making.

  • Champion change management and adoption for new tools, processes, and organizational initiatives.

Cross‑Functional & Customer Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Procurement to deliver accurate, executable, and competitive quotes.

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex, high‑value, or high‑risk quotations.

  • Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships through credibility, transparency, and responsiveness.

  • Ensure quoting strategies account for market trends, capacity considerations, and customer expectations.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or related field (advanced degree preferred).

  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in quoting, pricing, cost estimation, or related manufacturing functions.

  • Demonstrated senior‑level people leadership experience, including developing managers and future leaders.

  • Proven ability to lead strategy, influence cross‑functional stakeholders, and drive results through others.

  • Strong financial acumen with deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures and pricing dynamics.

  • Experience leading complex initiatives in fast‑paced, matrixed environments.

  • Excellent executive communication and decision‑making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in precision manufacturing or regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Strong experience with ERP systems and advanced quoting or pricing platforms.

  • Track record of leading operational transformation or system implementations.

  • Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, and change leadership capabilities.
