Job Description:

Remitly is on a mission to transform the lives of immigrants and their families by providing the most trusted financial products and services on the planet. Since 2011, we have been tirelessly delivering on our promises to immigrants sending their hard-earned money home.
Today, we are reimagining international payments at scale and building new products to create deeper relationships with our customers and their loved ones across the globe. Join over 2,700 employees across 10 offices who are growing their careers while having a positive impact on people globally.

The Senior Manager, Regulatory Alignment & Control Environment (RACE) will own the infrastructure that connects Remitly’s regulatory obligations to its compliance controls. In this role you will build and operate the systems, frameworks, and governance processes that ensure every applicable regulation across Remitly’s global entity footprint is identified, classified, mapped to a traceable control, and kept current as the regulatory environment evolves. You will lead the end-to-end regulatory change lifecycle — from horizon scanning and intake through impact assessment, implementation, and closure — and own the configuration and operational integrity of Remitly’s compliance control library.

You will work closely with Regional Compliance Officers, Legal, Security, Horizon Scanning, and Policy & Regulatory Affairs, as well as cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams. This role reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and is located in Seattle, WA.

About the Role:

You will play a central role in building and maintaining the regulatory foundation that Remitly’s compliance program depends on — including:

  • Own and maintain a complete, current, and auditable Regulatory Inventory across all Remitly entities and jurisdictions; ensure every applicable obligation is identified, classified under Remitly’s compliance program pillars, and traceable to one or more active controls.
  • Lead the regulatory change program: own the full lifecycle from intake through impact assessment, prioritization, implementation planning, and validated closure; ensure accountability is clear at every handoff across Horizon Scanning, Legal, RegTech, and Regional Compliance.
  • Drive control mapping and rationalization: maintain obligation-to-control mappings, eliminate redundancy, enforce evidence standards, and ensure gaps have documented remediation plans with named owners and due dates.
  • Own the configuration and operational design of the program’s technology stack; evaluate and adopt tools — including AI-enabled approaches — that can close program gaps or scale capacity.
  • Manage and develop a small team of direct reports; build program management capability around regulatory governance across the broader compliance function.
  • Operate a monthly cross-functional cadence across Regional Compliance Officers, Legal, RegTech, and Policy & Regulatory Affairs to review the regulatory register, confirm ownership, and escalate gaps.
  • Deliver reporting on regulatory inventory completeness, control coverage, and change management status to the CCO and, where applicable, to the Audit and Risk Committee.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $168,000.00 - $200,000.00.
