As a Director/Senior Manager Technical Accounting, you'll impact the lives of everyday people and help them go from surviving to thriving with innovative digital personal finance solutions. In this remote, work from home position, you will work with an established team, the Center of Excellence ("COE") to continue to build out the technical accounting function by delivering high-quality technical analyses, including drafting accounting policies, accounting memos for new products, new transactions, and implementation of new US GAAP. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will collaborate closely with senior finance leadership and cross-functional partners across Capital Markets, Strategic Finance, Legal, FP&A, Tax and Treasury. In this remote, work from home position, you will work with an established team, the Center of Excellence ("COE") to continue to build out the technical accounting function by delivering high-quality technical analyses, including drafting accounting policies, accounting memos for new products, new transactions, and implementation of new US GAAP. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will collaborate closely with senior finance leadership and cross-functional partners across Capital Markets, Strategic Finance, Legal, FP&A, Tax and Treasury. THE ROLE:
- Work cross-functionally across the business to foresee potential accounting issues and recommend practical solutions associated with contemplated business transactions.
- Review all new business activities to ensure timely identification of accounting and financial reporting matters and prepare high quality accounting memorandums for senior management and auditors.
- Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional partners to understand contractual arrangements, transactions and operational structures. Provide accounting expertise, including options and recommendations for transaction structuring, and simply and precisely explain accounting implications.
- Support financial audits with preparing audit requests, coordinating information requests,compiling technical accounting assessments.
- Collaborate with advisory services when required in analyzing accounting standards and assessing the associated business implications required to support implementations of new or revised technical accounting treatments.
- Support the preparation and review of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Participate in both formal and informal reviews with business to ensure financial statement disclosures are complete and accurate and align internal reporting with US GAAP.
- Assist in the evaluation, maintenance, and performance of key controls over technical accounting.
- Represent the company professionally as a technical accounting subject matter expert.
- Champion strategic innovation by developing new processes and encouraging ongoing process improvement within the accounting function.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Accounting Degree and CPA required
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, (minimum 5 years in a leadership role)
- Big 4 or Mid-Tier experience as a manager or Sr. Manager
- Strong / Advanced Technical GAAP experience with ASC 230, 326, 606, 810, 815, 820, and 860, including experience with securitization/SPV structures
- Technical writing skills (memos and implementation documentation)
- Financial Services or Fin- tech industry experience a plus
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Advanced excel skills
- Oracle experience a plus
