Overview:
Leads a pursuit pod in the marketing team for a select region. Owns narrative quality, team performance, and delivery outcomes for assigned pursuits that drives win rates and client impact. Accountable for ensuring each pursuit tells a compelling, differentiated story while developing high-performing pursuit talent. Seeks opportunities to provide support in order to achieve firm values and goals. Manages the firm’s resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude.Responsibilities:
- Owns and is accountable for pod-level performance metrics, including win rates, quality scores, and overall delivery health
- Leads narrative strategy for complex and high-profile pursuits, ensuring clarity, differentiation, and alignment with client needs and win themes
- Establishes and reinforces quality standards and best practices that result in consistent, compelling marketing deliverables
- Provides strategic review and guidance to the team, focusing on message, structure, and positioning
- Ensures marketing outputs align with firm strategy, brand standards, and pursuit objectives
- Leads and develops respective Marketing team, fostering accountability, growth, and high performance
- Balances workloads across the team to maintain sustainable delivery while meeting business demands
- Identifies skill gaps and development opportunities and partners with team and leadership to implement development plans
- Tracks and analyzes pod performance metrics, including win rates, rework levels, utilization, and delivery timelines; regularly reports metrics to marketing leadership
- Translates data and trends into actionable insights to improve processes, quality, and efficiency
- Works closely with studio leaders to support their business development program as the go-to and trusted source for business development efforts
- Collaborates with practice pursuit strategists on competitive intelligence, client and competition research to support pursuit efforts
- Oversees and ensures successful completion of qualifications packages, proposals submissions and interview collateral
- Oversees the pursuit submission process with pursuit team on go/no-go efforts, pursuit strategy, requirements, scheduling, assignments and maintains deadlines
- Oversees regional project information, stories and milestones for use in marketing materials, in collaboration with practice marketers and marketing resource manager
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Marketing, Communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Typically with 8+ years of professional services pursuit marketing experience
- Previous experience with A/E/C firm preferred
- Proficiency in InDesign
- Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent writing skills with experience in graphically designed page layouts
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Excellent project management, interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and customers; ability to forge trusting relationships within a diverse team
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to manage team with diplomatic and collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external
- Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
- Ability to proactively problem solve and apply innovative solutions
- Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
- Travel may be required
