Senior Marketing Manager (M/W/F) In Office

About Us:

WireScreen is the leading China business intelligence platform specializing in delivering comprehensive business, risk, and financial insights, with a particular focus on China and the intricate landscape of global supply chains. Our leadership team includes a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and senior staff who have helped scale multiple prominent tech companies.

Backed by leading VC firms Sequoia Capital and Harpoon Ventures, WireScreen enables multinationals, law firms, government agencies, and financial firms to conduct in-depth research and analysis on companies, institutions, and the people who own, manage, and invest in them. With an extensive database covering private and public entities, vast relationship networks, topical risk flags, and valuable context, WireScreen helps our customers make more informed decisions when navigating a complex market.

As a Series A start-up, we’re in the early stages of an exciting journey! Though we've only been selling our product for two years, we already have an impressive customer list and a healthy pipeline across multiple industries. We’re very encouraged by our initial success, customer response to our product, and the size of our addressable market. We must continue adding great teammates to keep scaling our revenue engine at an increasing pace.

As our first full-time marketing hire, you’ll play an important role in helping strategize and execute our growth plan across both private and public sector markets. Reporting to our head of sales, you’ll work closely with all leadership team members to help drive new business acquisitions, accelerate our financial success, and contribute to the evolution of our products.

As a startup we all wear multiple hats, so you’ll need to be comfortable with an initial portfolio that covers multiple marketing domains (product marketing, demand generation, branding, managing external agencies, etc.). An important aspect of this role will be determining how we should allocate time, headcount, and external resources to address these different domains.

If you’re a team player, can collaborate and communicate well with different audiences while being focused, result-driven, high energy, confident, curious, and most of all, fun sense of self, then we’d love to have you join us!

What You'll Do:

  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to help define our target audience, including building ICPs and Personas.
  • Sharpen the positioning and messaging of our product - articulation of customer pain points and how we’re uniquely positioned to address them.
  • Development of sales collateral, use cases, and case studies that reinforce our messaging in an impactful way.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand other players in our space, who they target, how they serve them, and how we should position ourselves relative to them.
  • Work with Product, Customer Success, and Sales to ensure new features and products are launched and marketed to relevant audiences.
  • Run point in managing external agencies or consultants, serving as the voice of the company to ensure consistency in messaging and prevent bottlenecks in the creative process.
  • Launch and run demand generation campaigns across relevant channels.
  • Generate content ideas, and oversee their creation to reinforce our value proposition and help us stand out.
  • Work with the executive and go-to-market team on other marketing initiatives and ideas (e.g. events, webinars, press releases, etc.).
  • Help evolve our marketing tools and reporting (HubSpot, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, etc.) to track effectiveness and shape the evolution of the team.

Who You Are / You Have:

  • 7+ years of B2B marketing experience with a SaaS or DaaS company, preferably working with the public sector, financial services, or multinational companies.
  • Experience with channel partner relationships would be a bonus, though not a requirement.
  • Proven ability to help define ICPs and Personas, and craft compelling, differentiated messaging.
  • Experience launching, running, and measuring successful demand generation campaigns, with a demonstrable effect on the pipeline.
  • Experience hiring and managing external agencies or consultants is a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to autonomously research industries, trends, pain points, and competitors, to generate overall WireScreen interest.
  • Keen ability to build and nurture customer relationships with a relentless focus on their needs.
  • Intellectual curiosity, range, and the ability to wear multiple hats simultaneously.
  • The contours of the job will evolve as the company grows.
  • Low ego and high EQ with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • The ability to thrive both in a team environment and as an individual contributor.
  • A desire to tackle new challenges with an analytical and creative mind, resilient in the face of setbacks, and driven to contribute to our shared success.
  • Excellent time management, judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • A doer who is enthusiastic about being hands-on, rolling up the sleeves, and doing the work.
  • Clear communicator with high-caliber writing skills, capable of crafting compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, and other commonly used marketing tools.

An Insider's view of WireScreen

What are some social events your company does?

We value working together as a team, and have regular social events to encourage that teamwork. Some examples include: company-wide lunches at Eataly, Escape Room activities, a walk to the high-line park, and happy-hour. Our micro-kitchen is frequently a place where people gather and talk. When we have a big win, we also celebrate as a team.

What does your typical day look like?

I start my mornings slowly, reviewing the previous day’s work, chatting with teammates, and making coffee. Lunch time is flexible, but I spend the core of my day between focused coding sessions and meetings. Some days I’m collaborating with our research team, other days I’m discussing design concepts or aligning on feature releases with the team.
