Description:

C3EL has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to support the mission at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. The selected candidate will design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain Academy networks. Responsibilities include configuring, testing, and maintaining LAN, WAN, DMZ, and wireless networks, as well as related services. The engineer will identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues, and create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks, applications, and appliances. Candidates should have experience working in a government environment and be familiar with NIST and FISMA standards.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implement and administer network devices within a structured environment, including establishing and maintaining network policies
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers
  • Design, plan, implement, and optimize wireless network infrastructure
  • Manage and support Aruba architecture, including wireless networks and network access control (NAC) solutions
  • Administer and maintain Nutanix Prism and Acropolis hypervisor environments
  • Configure, manage, and analyze firewalls and VPN solutions to ensure secure connectivity
  • Implement and support network access security tools and solutions
  • Administer Microsoft Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Develop, maintain, and execute PowerShell scripts to automate system and network tasks
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Windows Server and Windows 11 environments, resolving complex technical issues
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures clearly and accurately
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and network performance optimization

Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Minimum one of the following certifications; CCNA, CCNP, or ITILv3 certification.
  • Must be able to complete “eApp National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)” form.
  • Must have 5-7 years of related experience managing data networks, possessing extensive skills and knowledge in network design, architecture, troubleshooting, and management.
    • Experience configuring, testing, and maintaining LAN, WAN, DMZ, and wireless networks, as well as related services.
    • Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for networks, applications, and appliances.
    • Experience working in a government environment with knowledge of NIST and FISMA standards.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation.
  • Proven team player with the ability to drive collaboration across the organization to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase productivity.

Education:
  •  A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
