Roles and Responsibilities
Incident Management:
- Respond to and resolve network-related incident tickets in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Serve in a rotating schedule of being on call to response after hours and/or weekends.
Change Implementation:
- Plan, schedule, and execute network changes in accordance with established change management processes. This may include changes that need to be scheduled after business hours and/or weekends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption during change activities.
Network Patching:
- Apply firmware and software updates to network devices to ensure security and compliance.
- Monitor patching schedules and verify successful updates across all network gear.
Network Build and Deployment:
- Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure to support business needs.
- Perform site surveys and assessments to ensure optimal network performance and coverage.
Monitoring and Optimization:
- Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address performance issues.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance network efficiency and scalability.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
- Provide regular status updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of network design and build principles
- Demonstrated experience working within a Cisco hardware environment
- Demonstrates knowledge on networking topics, such as routing, switching, wireless and telco related circuit installations at remote sites
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college and/or professional experience in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.
- Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
