About this role

As a Senior or Principal Technical Product Manager at Prescryptive, you will turn complex business needs into well-defined, technically sound products and capabilities that our engineering teams can build and operate successfully.

This is a deeply technical product role working at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and the business. You will develop a strong understanding of our systems and use it to shape what we build, how capabilities fit together, and how work is prioritized and sequenced.

You will partner with Product leaders, engineering leaders, and architects from discovery through execution, translating between business and technical needs, assessing feasibility and tradeoffs, and creating the clarity teams need to build the right solutions. This is not a traditional project management role. You will be expected to understand the technology, develop a point of view, challenge assumptions, and help shape product and technical decisions, not simply coordinate the work.

What you will do

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to discover and define product capabilities.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the systems, data, integrations, and workflows underlying the products you support.

  • Work with engineering leaders and architects to assess feasibility, shape technical solutions, and identify dependencies and tradeoffs.

  • Bring a technical perspective to roadmap, priority, scope, and sequencing decisions.

  • Translate business and product needs into clear requirements and executable engineering work.

  • Stay close to execution, helping teams identify and resolve ambiguity, dependencies, risks, and roadblocks.

  • Communicate product and technical decisions, tradeoffs, and implications clearly to stakeholders and senior leaders.

Senior and Principal Roles

We are considering candidates for both the Senior and Principal roles. What role you’re considered for will reflect the depth of technical and product experience, complexity and scope of problems you have owned, and the level of independence and organizational influence you have demonstrated.

  • Senior Technical Product Manager: You have demonstrated success independently owning complex technical product work, partnering effectively with engineering teams, and driving decisions and execution across multiple stakeholders and systems. Required: 5+ years of experience in technical product management, working closely with software engineering, product, and business teams. Preferred: 2+ years in a software engineering or development role.

  • Principal Technical Product Manager: You bring greater technical and product depth and a sustained record of shaping highly complex, cross-cutting work. You operate effectively with broad organizational scope, influence senior leaders and technical direction, anticipate implications across products and systems, and create clarity where there may be no established path forward. Required: 8+ years of experience in technical product management, working closely with software engineering, product, and business teams. Preferred: 3+ years in a software engineering or development role.

What you will bring (required for both roles)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

  • Significant experience owning technically complex software products or capabilities, whether through technical product management, software engineering, or a closely related role.

  • Strong understanding of how enterprise software is designed, developed, deployed, operated, and evolved.

  • Technical depth to understand complex software systems and engage credibly with engineers and architects on system design, APIs, data, integrations, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into technically sound product requirements and executable engineering work.

  • Strong product judgment and the ability to make pragmatic decisions about scope, priorities, and tradeoffs.

  • Ability to work independently across teams, create clarity from ambiguity, and influence without direct authority.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues and recommendations to senior leaders.

Ideally you will also have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Product Management experience in addition to a technical or engineering background.

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, another regulated industry, or an environment with complex data, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience with complex enterprise integrations, APIs, data flows, or distributed systems.

  • Experience in an early-stage or growth-stage technology company.

What we have to offer

  • The opportunity to grow alongside an early-stage company shaking up a big, old-fashioned industry.

  • Flexible time off, including 12 paid holidays.

  • 401k match plus 100% employer-provided medical, dental, and vision premiums.

  • Company contribution to Health Savings Account.

  • Stock options.

Prescryptive is committed to fair pay practices. The projected annual salary range for this position is $165,000 to $245,000. Candidates may be hired at the Senior or Principal level based on experience, technical and product depth, demonstrated scope and impact, and interview assessment. When preparing an offer, we also consider experience in the healthcare industry, internal equity, and location.

Prescryptive is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Prescryptive does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability.
