The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support the Department of Justice’s mission. This position plays a critical role and involves working on high-profile cases. We are looking for candidates who are able to work in an office setting. Senior Paralegal duties focus on litigation support and preparation for upcoming trials.

This is an opportunity for you to provide case management and database maintenance assistance in a litigation support capacity. You will also gain invaluable experience using automated litigation support and eDiscovery tools and resources to add to your skillset.

The Senior Paralegal role works closely with federal prosecutors supporting the USAO in a fast-paced setting and assist in the investigation and prosecution of various matters to enforce the laws of the United States, up to and including support assistance for witness interviews, deposition preparation, and in-courtroom trial support.

Responsibilities:

  • Works under the direction of a Project Supervisor. Work products are reviewed prior to submission; however, often develops these products with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines.
  • In addition to functions performed by Paralegals, performs moderately complex legal research; synopsizes transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviews case related materials and, for example, identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation; writes preliminary drafts of simple legal memoranda and correspondence.
  • Contact mostly with other Contractor staff but contact with trial staff may be required.

Qualifications:
Required: 

  • Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted
  • Additionally at least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required; trial experience very helpful. At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
  • Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
  • Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.  
  • DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US Citizenship required). 

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.​
 

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$31.45
