About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Photo Retouching Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work hands-on across a wide range of categories - beauty, fashion, jewelry, automotive, food & bev and beyond - collaborating with our creative and production teams to bring client visions to life through expert-level retouching, compositing, and image development.
What You’ll Do
- Execute high-end retouching, color correction, and compositing across a range of visual styles and media.
- Collaborate closely with photographers, producers, and art directors to interpret creative intent, lead client reviews and deliver best-in-class imagery.
- Build and refine composites to support creative development and concept visualization.
- Integrate emerging tools - including AI-based image generation and enhancement models and CGI renders into retouching and ideation workflows where appropriate.
- Maintain consistent color management and output standards across digital and print deliverables.
- Oversee and uphold file structure, version control, and asset management protocols.
- Participate in quality control, routing, and release processes to ensure final deliverables meet all creative and technical standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional retouching experience in a commercial studio or agency environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Capture One.
- Strong working knowledge of AI Image-Gen tools and an understanding of how to blend traditional and AI-based workflows.
- Exceptional skin retouching skills that preserve natural texture and tone.
- A strong eye for composition, anatomy, and color; an illustration or fine arts background is a plus.
- Experience in multilayer CGI compositing.
- Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience managing complex file systems and adhering to structured workflow processes.
Additional Details
- Hybrid position — candidates must be able to work part-time on-site in our Madison Square Park location.
- Temp to Perm role. Candidates will do their first 30 days as freelance trial period. Upon completion of that trial period, FTE on day 31. Benefits and 401k match begin day 1 of FTE employment
- Competitive salary for this position is $80,000-$120,000 annually. When determining salary we consider several factos such as experience, qualifications, and training.
