Principal Platform Engineer
As a Principal Platform Engineer at Goldbelly you will build, maintain, and expand the infrastructure and platforms that support our Product and Data teams. This will be achieved by taking ownership of our cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability as the team grows our products, and continuing our cloud native approach. This role reports directly to our VP of Engineering Operations and is within our Cloud team.
Our Cloud team is responsible for site reliability, security, and performance of our various systems and services. You’ll be comfortable collaborating in focused groups, identifying and implementing the best technology for the task at hand.

Goldbelly empowers the top food makers around the country to sell their specialty dishes (think deep dish pizza from Chicago, iconic Texas BBQ, etc) to food-lovers nationwide. Consumers know we are the marketplace of the best food you can get in the US. Merchants can use our platform to manage sales, fulfillment, reporting and easily create a new revenue stream. We're solving an incredibly complex problem around perishable shipping from n endpoints.
Job RequirementsMust Have:
- 5+ years of experience working as Platform Engineer with AWS.
- Experienced with Kubernetes, preferably EKS.
- Experienced with IaC and Terraform.
- Experienced in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experienced managing Ruby on Rails and/or Python services.
- Familiarity with Machine Learning workloads.
- Experienced in using Kafka.
Nice to have:
- Experience in working with Postgres/Aurora.
- Experience in using CircleCI.
- Experience in using Datadog.
- Experience with Heroku.
- Experience working with modern data infrastructure (Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Atlan)
Salary range: $160,000 - $200,000 base salary range (dependent on experience level and interview performance) + equity (incentive stock options, vested over 4 years) + benefits.
