Senior Platform Engineer

Our team is a quickly growing group of Applied AI Engineers, Embedded Product Managers and Researchers motivated by diffusing the promise of AI into improvements we can feel in our day to day lives.

We’re hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to help build the core infrastructure that powers Percepta’s AI systems.

This role sits at the intersection of customer deployments and platform architecture. You’ll work as part of a team embedded inside critical institutions, helping design and build the systems that allow AI agents to interact with real-world tools, services, and environments.

Much of the work will start in the field—building systems that solve concrete problems for a specific customer. But the end goal is always the same: extract the right abstractions and encode them back into the platform so future systems can be built faster.

The problems are new, the patterns are still emerging, and the systems we’re building often don’t have established playbooks yet.

• Build the core platform that enables AI agents to interact with external tools, services, and environments

• Design systems that orchestrate complex multi-step workflows driven by frontier models

• Work as part of Percepta teams embedded with customers to ship production AI systems

• Extract reusable abstractions and infrastructure from real deployments

• Design reliable interfaces between AI systems and distributed execution environments

• Rapidly prototype new architectures as we explore emerging patterns in AI infrastructure

• Contribute to the evolution of Mosaic, encoding new capabilities that accelerate future deployments

• 6+ years building production backend systems or developer platforms

• You're the kind of engineer who, when the abstraction doesn't exist yet, builds it rather than works around it

• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, and service architecture

• Experience designing infrastructure that coordinates multiple services or execution environments

• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous problem spaces where patterns are still emerging

• Comfort moving quickly from prototype to production system

• High-agency mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills

• Deep curiosity about agentic workflows/abstractions

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems or task execution frameworks

• Experience building and maintaining developer platforms or internal infrastructure

• Experience working directly with customers or design partners

• Background in infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems
