What you will do:

We are looking for a SENIOR PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT MANAGER who can help shape our vision and support our mission. Here is what the position will look like.

  • Transforms business processes, improves efficiency of operations, and increases transparency around process improvement.
  • Manages expert-led improvement projects: Initiates, plans, executes, monitors, controls and closes large scale, cross functional and/or multiple medium to complex improvement projects. May manage several unrelated projects simultaneously.
  • Collects, analyses and uses data to drive process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement post project.
  • Consults and coaches leaders and key staff across the enterprise to develop a culture of process improvement.
  • Participates in and provides thought leadership for discussions on innovation throughout Colorado Access.
  • In collaboration with the Quality team
  • Delivers in-person Improvement training through the established Improvement Academy (IA), generally 2X per year. Updates training as needed to incorporate new methods, tools, techniques, utilizing approaches that follow adult learning best practices.
  • Provides post-training coaching support to Improvement Academy participants.
  • Monitors project progress for all IA participants, ensuring that projects progress according to schedule and that participants are following improvement methods as taught during IA.
  • Maintains IA projects dashboard.
  • Facilitates the monthly Improvement Community of Practice learning forum.
  • Provides project management and oversight across all project lifecycle stages for the portfolio of COA projects. Utilizes a broad knowledge of project management, business operations and the healthcare industry knowledge to manage multiple projects to successful completion.
  • Initiates, plans, executes, monitors, controls and closes large scale, cross functional and/or multiple medium to complex projects and/or programs (defined as a collection of projects and services which together achieve common business goals and strategic objectives with potentially long implementation time frames).  May manage several unrelated projects simultaneously.
  • Manages cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule, within budget and approved resources.
  • Identifies and documents project requirements and deliverables, including the planning process, executing process, monitoring and controlling process, and closing process. Provides communications management, cost management, resource management, scope management and time management for each assigned project.
  • Defines project scope based on organization need, and addresses risks and issues. Defines team members' roles and responsibilities, creates work breakdown structures, and develops risk management plans. Proactively manages project schedules, resources, communications, expectations, tasks and quality standards.
  • Provides coaching, feedback and interventions necessary to ensure project success.  Manages and collaborates with outside resources and cultivates positive working relationships with LOBs and functional departments. On large projects/ programs, may delegate activities to junior PMO staff.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Monitors the status of identified risks and takes corrective actions.
  • Conducts weekly Project Team meetings; creates agendas and support materials and distributes materials to team members prior to meetings. Actively participates in Project Steering Team meetings.
  • Coordinates work with staff to ensure overall project continuity and efficiency.
  • Communicates regularly with the Project Executive Sponsor. Escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Upon successful attainment of project deliverables, closes, archives and retains project records and documents. Creates and communicates final project reports, provides performance feedback on project team members, and measures customer satisfaction upon project completion.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information obtained managing projects.

 

What you will bring:

Education bachelor’s degree in IT, Project Management, Business Administration or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree is preferred.

 

Experience: Minimum of eight years’ progressive process improvement experience and project management experience; 5+ years’ experience delivering enterprise-scale process improvement within organizations. Program development and program evaluation experience required. Previous healthcare industry experience preferred. Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, develop recommendations, strategic objectives and action plans. Strong analytical skills, as well as facilitation, critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Solid knowledge of healthcare, managed care and understanding of Colorado Medicaid programs required.  Demonstrates support for the company’s mission, vision and values. Position requires excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, strong organizational skills and teamwork skills. Must be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) and able to work with a variety of performance management, process improvement, change management and project management tools. May be required to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines. 

Licenses/Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification required. A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Pay, Perks and Benefits at Colorado Access:

The compensation for this position is $118,600.00 to $155,300.00 annually. Colorado Access has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Colorado Access may pay for the position at the time of posting. Colorado Access may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Where you will work:

This position will be a hybrid model work environment, a blend of ‘In-Office’ and ‘Remote.’
