Own end-to-end product features for a creative web editor and adjacent surfaces. Prototype quickly (Figma or code), collaborate with engineers, extend the design system, use metrics and experiments, and shape product strategy and roadmap.

senior product designer

We're looking for a senior product designer who can hold two things at once: the visual craft to design interfaces that designers will respect, and the systems that make those interfaces work as part of a coherent, scalable product that pushes the limits of what's possible on the web.

The role spans both worlds—designing the editor itself, where most patterns have to be invented rather than borrowed, and designing the more conventional surfaces around it (profile, onboarding, marketing-adjacent flows, etc.) where we still want our own voice to come through. Both require a strong understanding of business impact: working with metrics, analytics, and experiments.

This is a fully remote collaboration under a service agreement. We work primarily within the GMT+1 time zone and expect a regular overlap of business hours on weekdays to allow for meetings and live collaboration.

Who we are

Readymag is a design tool for creating websites, portfolios, editorials, and presentations. We build for designers who treat the web as a creative medium, not a constraint to work around.

Most tools follow the rules of the web. We prefer to question them. Since 2012, we've been inventing capabilities that go the extra mile: animation and interaction systems that give designers full expressive control, layout logic that thinks beyond the grid, typography tools with the precision of professional print software. Working in Readymag feels like creating something, not filling out a form.

We're bootstrapped—a fully distributed team, independent by design, sustainable by choice. We value curiosity, authorship, and a culture of questions. We measure what we can, and trust craft where we can't.

What you will do

- Own features end-to-end, from early exploration through specs and production handoff;

- Use Readymag as your primary lens: spot friction, notice inconsistencies, and advocate for improvements as someone who works with the product daily;

- Prototype ideas quickly: in Figma, in code, or whatever gets the point across fastest;

- Collaborate with engineers on technical and architectural decisions;

- Contribute to and extend the design system, keeping it tightly aligned with how things are built in code;

- Work with data, run experiments, and use research to make informed decisions;

- Contribute to strategic direction and roadmap alongside product and design leadership.

What you’ll bring

- 5+ years in product design, preferably in complex technical industries;

- Strong ownership and an end-to-end approach—you can take a feature from ambiguous brief to shipped without losing the thread;

- A portfolio that shows range: complex product problems solved with clarity, and an eye for visual quality that designers will notice;

- You think in systems and work closely with engineers—you’re comfortable in technical conversations, not just design reviews.

Would be a plus

- Meaningful experience with tools, creative software, or other canvas-based, interaction-heavy products

- A feel for interface animation—not just transitions for their own sake, but motion that communicates state, guides attention, and makes a complex tool feel alive.
