JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to create exceptional user experiences across FOX News Media's digital products, including FOX News, FOX Business and OutKick. You'll lead end-to-end design initiatives across multiple product teams, bringing strong product thinking, interaction design expertise, and visual craft to experiences ranging from content discovery and audience engagement to emerging AI-powered products.

This role is ideal for a designer who balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Editorial teams to define problems, rapidly explore solutions, and deliver intuitive experiences across web and mobile platforms.

You'll iterate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where priorities evolve quickly, experimentation is encouraged, and AI-powered tools accelerate design and prototyping. This is an opportunity to influence the future of digital experiences at one of the world's leading news organizations.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Design Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end product design across web and mobile experiences, from discovery through delivery.
  • Translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into thoughtful, intuitive product experiences.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that communicate design intent clearly.
  • Champion user-centered design while balancing speed, quality, and business impact.

Design Execution & Craft

  • Deliver polished, scalable UI that reflects FOX News Media's brand while maintaining usability and accessibility best practices.
  • Apply strong visual design fundamentals including typography, hierarchy, color, layout, and interaction design.
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems, reusable components, and interaction patterns that improve consistency across products.
  • Review implemented designs and partner with Engineering to ensure high-quality execution.

AI-Driven Design & Prototyping

  • Demonstrate active, practiced fluency with AI-powered design tools (Figma AI, Claude Design, or similar) as a default part of the design workflow across ideation, exploration, and delivery
  • Builds functional prototypes using AI-assisted development tools (Cursor or similar) to accelerate validation and cross-functional communication
  • Evaluates emerging AI tools and proactively shares workflows and best practices with the design team to raise collective productivity
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities and share best practices that improve team workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Technical Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and stakeholders to shape product direction.
  • Work across multiple product teams and initiatives, adapting quickly to evolving priorities while maintaining a high bar for design quality.
  • Present design concepts, articulate rationale, and incorporate feedback from cross-functional partners.
  • Participate in design critiques and help elevate design quality across the broader team.

User-Centered Product Development

  • Inform design decisions through research, usability testing, analytics, and customer insights.
  • Advocate for users while balancing technical feasibility and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product experiences through iterative testing and continuous learning

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Required

  • Typically, 5+ years of experience designing digital products for web and mobile platforms.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UX, interaction, and visual design across shipped consumer-facing products.
  • Experience leading product design initiatives from discovery through implementation in close partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • Expertise designing responsive web and native mobile experiences.
  • Proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows.
  • Experience using AI-powered design and coding tools (Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to accelerate design exploration and interactive prototyping.
  • Ability to build functional prototypes that effectively communicate user interactions and product concepts.
  • Strong understanding of design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in an iterative, collaborative environment.
  • Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience designing consumer-facing products in digital media, publishing, streaming, or content-rich platforms.
  • Experience working in fast-paced newsroom, media, or startup environments.
  • Familiarity designing AI-powered product experiences or emerging technologies.
  • Experience contributing to or scaling enterprise design systems.
  • Basic front-end knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) that enables effective collaboration with Engineering.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-130,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
