Senior Product Manager – Payments & Integrations

Location: New York, NY

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager with a deep understanding of payments and a passion for building partner-friendly APIs to join our growing product team. You’ll work directly with the Chief Product Officer and cross-functional partners to define, build, and scale our payments capabilities and integration frameworks — enabling a new generation of third-party applications to connect and transact securely.

This is a highly visible, high-impact role with the opportunity to shape our payments strategy and expand the reach of the Ninth Wave platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product lifecycle for our payments APIs — from discovery and design to launch and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design to define technical requirements, API schemas, and integration flows.
  • Partner with external fintechs and internal stakeholders to understand pain points and build features that scale.
  • Drive integration readiness and enablement, including documentation, testing tools, and onboarding frameworks.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on payment flows, standards (e.g. ACH, RTP), and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify integration experiences and reduce time-to-market for third-party developers.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, documentation, and technical understanding where applicable.
  •  Complies with the company in-office policy
  •  Collaborate in-person with teams at our New York City office to drive initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech, banking, or payments.
  • Strong understanding of payments systems (e.g., ACH, wire, RTP, card rails), payment operations, and API design.
  • Experience working with or building for third-party developers and partners.
  • Familiarity with OAuth, token exchange, and developer onboarding flows is a strong plus.
  • Technical fluency — comfortable working through API specs, integration edge cases, and data models with engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • AI fluency a plus — bonus points if you actively use LLMs to supercharge your workflow.

Why Join Ninth Wave?

  • Shape the future of a platform critical to the open banking ecosystem.
  • Join a small, focused team with strong leadership and a clear mission.
  • Own a critical domain — your work will be foundational to our partner success and product growth.
  • Work at the intersection of finance, data, and technology.
  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits in a high-impact role.
