Polymarket is the world’s largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized “house,” Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.
We're growing fast – both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.
About the role
Polymarket is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to build the quality assurance function from the ground up. You'll define how we test, what we test, and when code is ready to ship. This means building automated test infrastructure, establishing release processes, and eventually hiring a small team to scale the function.
This is a foundational hire. There's no existing QA infrastructure. You're not coming in to run test cases someone else wrote. You're coming in to decide what quality looks like at Polymarket.
What you’ll do
Automated Test Infrastructure: Build automated test suites from scratch covering web, backend APIs, and critical trading flows. We recommend TypeScript and Playwright, but you'll have input on the stack.
Release Quality: Define and own the release testing process. Work with the TPM to ensure releases are structured, tested, and still shipping fast.
Product Coverage: Deeply understand the product so you can identify what to test. Trading flows, market creation, settlement, edge cases that could cost users money.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into the deployment pipeline so issues get caught before they hit production.
Bug Tracking & Visibility: Use Linear to track issues, coordinate with engineering on fixes, and maintain visibility into quality metrics.
Team Building: As we grow, hire and mentor 2-3 additional QA engineers to build out the function.
What we’re looking for
3+ years in QA engineering or SDET roles, with time at startups scaling quickly
Strong automated testing skills. You've built test infrastructure from scratch, not just maintained existing suites. Experience with modern frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
Trading or fintech product experience. You've tested products where real money is at stake and understand what can go wrong.
Crypto/DeFi familiarity. Understanding of blockchain mechanics and how crypto products work. Strongly preferred
Full-stack testing experience across web applications and backend APIs
Comfortable with TypeScript or Python for test automation
Experience with CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar)
Strong communication skills. You can explain quality tradeoffs to engineers and push back when needed
(Plus) Experience at prediction markets, sports betting platforms, or trading exchanges
(Plus) Experience leading or mentoring a small QA team
(Plus) Performance and load testing background
(Plus) Mobile iOS testing experience
(Plus) Security testing exposure
Benefits
Competitive salary & meaningful equity
Unlimited PTO, Health, Vision, & Dental coverage
401k match
Hardware setup — new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories.
