Downtown Music Publishing is looking for a Senior Royalty Coordinator to join our global royalty processing team. Your focus will be on the processing of inbound royalties for both masters and publishing, and the ingestion and mapping of royalty statements from a wide variety of sources. You will report to the Royalties Manager and be responsible for meeting individual goals to ensure the department meets its quarterly objectives. Our team takes pride in accuracy and detail, but also in efficient collaboration with the other departments within Downtown’s Rights Management Operations.

This hybrid position will be based in our New York City office location.

What you will do:

  • Operate as lead processor for both Music Maestro and Curve processing which includes:
  • Locating, analyzing, reviewing, and processing incoming royalty statements
    Creating templates
    Importing statements
    Song matching statements
    Sub-coding statements
  • Inbound royalty reconciliation of cash to statement details
  • Assist with adding cash and assignments to airtable
  • Lead in processing income in backlog, error, suspense, client adjustments, etc.
  • Support internal and external rights holders and partners (e.g. PROs, DSPs, Distributers etc.) to ensure that royalty-related issues get resolved quickly
  • Liaise with the Licensing, Copyright, Data, Income Tracking and other cross functional teams as necessary
  • Identify ways the team can streamline and improve future processes
  • Train and manage interns and temp employees
  • Collaborate with and assist management on any ad-hoc projects including the curve migration project
  • Assist the management team with quarterly review 

You are/have:

  • 2+ years experience in music publishing required
  • Passionate about music and working numbers & data
  • Intermediate to advanced EXCEL and ACCESS skills required
  • Experience with Vistex Music Maestro required
  • Detail oriented with an analytical mind
  • Self-initiating, resourceful, flexible, and teamwork oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high performing environment with tight deadlines
  • Experience with Curve Royalty Processing system a plus
  • Experience with SQL a plus

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
