ReferWell is seeking a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certified Senior Scrum Master. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in implementing and sustaining an effective project management discipline, ensuring cross-team alignment and focus.

This role requires the candidate to work from the Stamford, CT office two days a week.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Scrum Master will report to the Director of Product and will work closely with the Development and Product teams in supporting some of the largest healthcare systems and payers in the industry.

Required Qualifications

  • SAFe certified Scrum Master or Advanced Scrum Master.
  • BA/BS in Health Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years in a Scrum Master role within software development, preferably in Healthcare IT.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large teams, ideally those with 50+ members.
  • Proven track record in implementing software or web development projects using Scaled Agile Framework methodologies, including extensive project and team management.
  • Strong skills in facilitation, negotiation, and collaboration within a diverse team setting.
  • References required to validate effectiveness and experience in similar roles.
  • Conversational or bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Introduce SAFe into the organization and promote rapid framework adoption.
  • Guide the business on lean portfolio management best practices, particularly PI Planning.
  • Facilitate scrums across multiple agile teams and set up continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance on SAFe, creating a culture of constant improvement.
  • Foster an environment of respect and trust while staying true to a lean-agile mindset.

 

Application Process

Interested candidates should submit their resume along with a cover letter explaining their relevant experience and interest in the position and confirm their ability to commute to our Stamford office twice per week (currently Tuesdays and Thursdays).

The interview process is up to four rounds and generally takes three weeks:

  1. Phone screening. An informal call (30 minutes) for the candidate and business to learn more about each other, assess fit and relevant experience.
  2. Remote interviews (1.5 hours). Two 45-minute interviews involving open-ended technical Q&A.
  3. Onsite interviews (3–4 hours). Three to four 1-hour interviews based on the STAR method with some whiteboarding.
  4. Decision. Within ten business days, the business speak with your references and will reach out regarding a decision.

 

References
