About the company

At Covera, we're committed to ensuring high-quality healthcare is more than just a promise. That's why we're leading the way in the emerging science of quality, and connecting providers and payers in their shared quest to improve patient outcomes and care quality. By tackling this challenge, we have the ability to impact millions of lives by raising the standard of care nationwide.

Our initial focus is radiology, where an early and accurate diagnosis has a profound impact on the rest of a patient's care journey. Through our work, which uses clinically-validated science-based tools, we're helping doctors enhance their care, ensuring patients get the right diagnosis, and enabling the healthcare system to support quality improvement at scale.

Through our clinical intelligence platform, we have launched programs that help people access the most effective care and provide doctors with AI-powered quality insights and tools to enhance their care. Today, Covera is partnered with leading employers, payers and healthcare organizations across the US, including Walmart and Microsoft. And, with a pipeline representing over 25% of insured Americans, we are in the early stages of improving care quality for all patients across the globe.

About the role

We’re building the leading healthcare intelligence platform to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. As a Senior Software Engineer focused on cloud and infrastructure, you will design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and reliable systems that support our clinical analytics and data pipelines. Build and operate containerized applications leveraging Kubernetes and related technologies
  • Develop clean, testable, and maintainable code in Python, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Implement integrations and workflows that streamline healthcare data processing (e.g., DICOM imaging, HL7 messaging)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, Clinical, and Engineering to align technology with business goals
  • Ensure performance, resilience, and security best practices are embedded into all systems
  • Own end-to-end delivery of major features, from technical exploration and implementation through deployment and monitoring
  • Drive problem-solving including diagnosing and debugging complex issues in production environments, and driving them to full resolution
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Python and software design best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Ability to balance competing requirements, solve complex problems, and deliver practical, scalable solutions
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Background in healthcare data standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7) or prior experience in health tech
  • Exposure to front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks) preferred
