What you'll do

The role of a strategist is to use business, brand, culture and consumer centric insights to connect creativity with media, and deliver impactful ideas that drive business outcomes. They are responsible for identifying memorable ways to express the brand and creative platform, when consumers will be most receptive, across a variety of platforms, places and touchpoints. They support, collaborate and inspire work across the agency and media teams. Reports to the Head of Strategy.

Essential Duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assess client objectives and define the real business challenge to solve for
  • Use multiple tools, resources, consumer panels to derive data points and learnings 
  • Reveal unique insights to land the opportunity
  • Sell in a strategic approach that achieves the client’s business goals
  • Create inspiring briefs that unlock bold connections ideas 
  • Architect clever yet simple eco-systems that unite how when and where the brand shows up
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to arrive at a coherent body of work 
  • Ensure teams are up to date on key trends, human behaviors, and their impact  
  • Lead strategic meetings and present recommendation with unshakable confidence 
  • Help train and develop our talent in your discipline
  • Act as a beacon of Noble People’s values (Honest, Bold, Original).

Translates client briefs into comprehensive, creative and innovative communication strategies, providing output to maximize creative media tactics and client’s budget. 

  • Evaluates client brief, helps define marketing objectives, laddering back to the business challenge
  • Audits company, culture, consumer and category data, delivering key learnings, tensions, truths 
  • Analyzes the audience and maps the customer journey, identifying where/when/how to reach them
  • Articulates the comms behavior to act as a guiding filter for ideas
  • Develops campaign rollout and partners closely with media teams on paid, owned and earned activation
  • Packages and sells in a strategic approach that achieves the client’s business goals
  • Partners with data specialists to define, monitor, and evaluate key metrics for campaign success. 

Delivers ideas that gain industry recognition for their creativity and result

  • Creates inspiring briefs that unlock bold and creative media ideas and activations
  • Collaborates with media team to take ideas from infancy to client-ready, presenting with confidence
  • Understands audience, industry and platform trends to ensure creative and messaging delivers impact
  • Consistently shares innovative industry examples that inspire and uplevel work across the agency

Arms client and new business teams with market research, thought leadership, and best practices

  • Uses a multitude of sources and methodologies, including driving qualitative market research
  • Proficient with relevant research tools such as YouGov, MRI/Simmons, Infegy, Kantar, etc 
  • Understand principles of brand building and strengths/weaknesses of different media platforms.
  • Studies and shares best-in-class advertising examples and case studies
  • Stays on top of best practice principles, industry and platform trends

Manages, trains and leads team of inspiring strategic thinkers

  • Project manage multiple work streams across accounts laddering back up to team lead
  • Helps team prioritize work and allocate resources where needed

Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years as a strategist at a media and/or creative agency, 3+ years experience in a client facing role
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Keynote, industry tools (MRI, Statista, Infegy, YouGov, etc.)
